Kalidwipa Mangrove Board walk - Featured Reviews (51)
Yet another must visit place in Karwar. You have to go in boat, as this is a island. No entry fees. But you need to pay for boat. Government has made a wodden pathway in mangrove forest. It's quite and unique experience.
There is also Kaali Matha Temple, you can have blessings of Kaali Maa.
My suggestion is to take a boat ride from Prafulla boat center near Kaali River forest office, they will take you to this island and provide information, then they will take you to couple more island called kurmaghad and show you some dolphins. These people are licensed boat riders, and they have highly-qualified boats with all safety measures. They charge you arround 1000/- head, more the members, less the price. Don't worry about price, it's worth watching and life time experience.
This was included in our boating trip, it is a wooden board walkway passing through the mangrove forest. It leads to Kali Matha temple entrance from the river end. There are multiple boards with details about the flora and fauna available there, which is really good to know.
Unique experience of walking through mangroves on an elevated pathway around the Mahakali temple. Entry is free
Went to the Kalidwipa Island, through Jungle Lodges. Good place. Interesting boardwalk. Clean and will maintained Kalika temple.
Good place with pleasant climate with an entrance ticket of 10rs for tourists and 1000rs for photographers to shoot
This is perhaps unexplored as you don't get to hear a lot about this temple. If you happen to visit Karwar this temple is a must visit.
zero crowd and we had then island to ourselves !
Karnataka Govt is building a Mangrove walk which is very nice. It was interesting to see Mangrove forest up close.
The actual name of the island what local call it is Burburya Bhaat. And not this Gudi at all as govt trying to steal the konkani identity of the locals and ancient places in this konkani region. And Kalika Mata Mandir locals call it.
Offering the only walking pathway with Mangroves on both sides. This place to be reached in boat only. There's Kalika Gudi here, a division sacred temple.
Great place to spend time with family.
