Local guides will come after you to take you around the place but trust me the place is so small you can see it yourself in around 10 minutes. Please keep the place clean when you visit

Pleasantly surprised to see a Japanese temple in Sarnath. Well maintained Buddhist temple complex. Very peaceful with lots of citrus trees in the garden. The approach road is terrible and very dusty. Needs major repairs asap.

This beautiful Japanese Temple is located just about 750 m from Sarnath temple. Based on typical Japanese classical architecture, it was a pleasure to spend some time at this peaceful and serene place. There is a beautiful reclining Buddha statue inside the shrine. A young boy volunteered to take us around with appropriate explainations. A visit is highly recommended.

Japanese temple is a uniquely built Buddhist pilgrimage site in Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh. The interiors of the temple are serenely beautiful. There is a huge wooden statue of the Buddha in reclining pose with an exquisite design on the head. Japanese Temple is just awesome and peaceful place. Temple is located nearby the Sarnath Buddha Temple. Inside the temple you will see lying buddha statue made of sandle wood.
