Jambuvan Caves - Historical landmark in Porbandar - Porbandar, India

Jambuvan Caves is a historical place. It is believed that these caves were created by Lord Jambuvan. You have to go through the very small entrances to reach the cave. Caves have a very Humid atmosphere. So remove your socks out if you wear them. Also you have to remove shoes outside of the cave. Maybe you should visit once. You have to wait in a sequence. They divide people into groups. A group of 40-50 people can go in. The cave visit is free of cost there are no tickets required.

It's an ancient place where Lord KRISHNA battled with JAMBUVAN for SAMANTAKA Mani. It's written in our Granthas(ancient books) and U will feel true there. Must watch place in PORBANDAR visit. There were two ways r there which is called one is to Dwarika another is to Rameswar. Small lingas forming from water pouring in drops.

A nice and important place in view of Ramayan & Mahabharat. In history Jambuban fight with Shree Krishna up to 27 days for a mani (Gems) and when Jambuban understood Krishna was a avtar of Shree Vishnu he quit himself and offer his daughter Jambabati to marry with Krishna. Krishna got the mani and also marry with Jambabati. A another importance according to of this caves is there are three under way from here, one is go to Somnath, One is go to Dwarka and last is go to Junagarh. Every pilgrims get Prasad Idli, chutney, Sambhar, Bundi(Sweets) & Gathiya from 10 am to 2 pm. No entry fee/ticket here. This place is approx 17 km from Porbandar-Veraval highway and beside of Sourastra Cement factory. One more important temple is Ghadi baba (Clock) temple. Who pray for his any wish after completing the wish he/she came here and install a wall clockin the temple.

Jambavan cave is very old and historical place near Porbandar. Hidden cave. If you're driving from Dwarka to Somnath then you must visit here. Just 10 to 12 kms away from Highway. This place has historical values. We spent 1 hour there. Cave is at least 20 feet down from ground level. Inside atmosphere is very cool and pleasant. Loards Krishna came here and meet to jambuvant and it is mentioned in Shree mad bhagvad Geeta. Jambavan's cave is the place where Jambavan lived and where he fought with Sri Krishna. According to puranas, Jambavan found the Syamantaka mani. Krishna who was falsely accused of stealing it, went in search of the jewel and reached jambavan's cave. There both of them fought and when Jambavan realises that Krishna is none other than his beloved Sri Rama, he asks forgiveness and gives his daughter jambavati in marriage to Sri Krishna. This place is in serene surroundings. Inside the cave, there is place to walk and there are many shivalingas. The overall experience is awesome.
