Jama Masjid in Bhopal is a breathtaking masterpiece of Islamic architecture. This historic mosque is a symbol of tranquility, architectural brilliance, and the rich cultural heritage of Bhopal. Its intricate design, elegant domes, and minarets make it a must-visit landmark. Inside, you'll find a serene atmosphere, with echoes of prayers and a warm welcome from the local community. It's a place where history and spirituality beautifully converge, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.
A must visit. I went to the Jama masjid at night. There were hardly any people about. Being a non Muslim, I was not sure whether I could enter or not, so I asked an elderly gentleman who was exuding the mosque. He said I could go in & escorted me in himself.
The mosque was brilliantly lit from outside. I did i was the only visor & had the whole mosque to sit in tranquility or peace. I took a few moments to disk in the atmosphere of the place.
I would say this is among the more beautiful mosques in India & well maintained.
A beautiful mosque built by Qudsia Begum, a Lady Nawab of Erstwhile Nawabi of Bhopal, not to be confused by Taj-ul-Masjid Masjid or Moti Masjid
This one is smaller & is in Chowk Bazar
Although smaller but is equally magnificent in its architecture
Jama Masjid in Bhopal was built by Qudsia Begum who had aslo built the famous Gauhar Mahal. The Begums ruled Bhopal and shows how women had the power to rule and build something which stands till today. The Begum were very wise. Their knowledge on Islamic architecture is well portrayed in the elements of the entire building. The place is mostly deserted apart from tourists travelling there. I request others to upload the correct pictures of the Masjid as few people have Added Taj ul Masajid pictures. Beware of the wrong pictures. I am sharing few pictures when i visited there.

This one is smaller & is in Chowk Bazar
Although smaller but is equally magnificent in its architecture having 3 domes and 2 bulky minarets
Beautiful Mosque, it shows how traditionally mosque were used to build, nowadays mosque are closed on sides and Air Conditioned, but here you can see so many gates and elevated dome, back in the time we didn't have forced circulation, this mosque is built to use natural circulation of air for cooling and ventilation.
here I offered namaz, obviously.
Sub-han Allah
No tickets are required here, I guess. I didn't pay for any tickets, but they have saveral gates here, so there is a chance they charge you from that particular gate. I might be wrong, so check yourself.
I must say this otherwise it would be a unfair review, This mosque is huge.
Jummah Mubarak, I wish you and your family a blissful and blessed Jumma.
May Allah grant you mercy for the sake of this holy day! Jumma Mubarak!
All I wish that every Jummah prayer brings peace, joy, and forgiveness of Allah to all of your lives and strengthen the faith upon Him...
