Just off the Bidhan Sarani, this temple looks like a Victorian era mansion with a marble staircase & clock but once inside you'd be surprised by the wide open space and the almost homely atmosphere of this temple. The main idol is of Mahishasurmardini in Ashtadhatu & proper puja's and aarati's take place as with any other temple. Nobody minds if you spend some time within this temple just medicating or resting from the heat outside.
