Visited Itmad-ud-daulah and was captivated by the intricate craftsmanship and historical significance. The delicate marble inlay work is truly remarkable, offering a glimpse into the Mughal era's architectural elegance. The gardens add to the serene ambiance, making it a worthwhile stop in Agra. However, some areas could benefit from better maintenance. Overall, a delightful experience for history enthusiasts.
It is also known as baby or mini taj. Located on the eastern bank of river yamuna and just 3-4 km away from Taj Mahal. Its also very beautiful monument just like the Taj Mahal.
Beautiful garden surrounded by 4 gates on the corners and having a Mahal in the centre (which is having graves of prominent people). The centre Mahal is very much airy, one can sit for quite some time!Nice place to hangout! Fees is Rs20 for Indians and Rs210 for foreigners. Parking is expensive though! (Rs70). Sightseeing of whole monument would require around 0.5 to 1hr at max.
THE MAUSOLEUM OF ITMAD- UD- DAULA.... Commonly referred to in the tourist literature as the 'Little Taj,' the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daula is a breathtaking mausoleum situated on the Yamuna River just outside Agra and should be appreciated in its own right and not as a miniature version of the Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal Empress Nur Jahan for her beloved parents, Itimad-ud-Daula and Asmat Begum, between 1622 and 1628, this small mausoleum is the first example of a Mughal tomb faced in white marble. It was completed 4 years before Taj Mahal was built. #mughalhistory #mughalarchitecture #indianmughalarchitecture #dekhindiadekh #incredibleindia #exploreindia #exploreagra #exploretocreate #indiantourism
Nicknamed the Baby Taj, the exquisite tomb of Mizra Ghiyas Beg was the precursor to the Taj Mahal. Built between 1622 and 1628, it is located along the banks of the Yamuna and was built by the Mughal queen Noor Jahan, wife of Emperor Jehangir, to commemorate her parents
Itmad-ud-daulah were Noor Jahan's father and here his tomb is situated. The place is good to visit as it is on the main road and easily accessible but only visit when you have plenty of time to spare. If your Agra trip is of only 1/2 days, then put this place on bottom of priority list. I like this place for the fact that lush greenery surrounds the place and one thing that is not good about the place is the view of river yamuna from here. Rest, all is good, from security checks to the shoe keeping facilities. If you want to see a small version of Taj Mahal, then this place would be of great interest to you. If I am not wrong, then this place on map is the entrance to the tomb.
The Itmad-ud-Daula tomb was commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. The tomb is often referred to as the Baby Taj because it was the first Mughal structure to be built entirely of white marble and to feature extensive use of pietra dura, a decorative art form using inlaid semi-precious stones. Additionally, the tomb is situated on the bank of the Yamuna River, which adds to its serene and peaceful atmosphere.
It's very beautifully build place. The artistic work is similar to that of you aj mahal and it's on the bank of yamuna. Although it isn't well maintained, not that popular among tourists and a bit far from taj mahal.
