Had a late night need for a place to stay, luckily stumbled upon this gem of a place. Highly affordable, dorm style rooms, definitely made for backpackers and budget travelers. The rooms were quaint and the bed was comfortable, the manager was great, very polite and quick to help, there was constant running water and the facility for warm water too. The location is great and the ability to meet multiple people from different places who also happen to travel made it an even more of an awesome experience for me. For the price point it is highly recommended.
This place is utterly disgusting! 1. Cleanliness: In the name of cleanliness, they only come to fold your blanket. That's all! No cleaning of rooms as such. And btw the blankets were not warm at all. 2. Property: The doors do not close properly and the windows were broken. There's a drain just below that window which is stinky and a breeding place for mosquitoes. 3. Bathroom and drinking water: The bathrooms were always unclean and there was no water for flushing. Every time you go to the toilet, it's unflushed and disgusting. They don't even provide you with a toilet paper. There was hardly any water to drink as well. 4. Staff behaviour: Su was a little helpful. His cousin Raj welcomed me with his flirty or rather inappropriate behaviour and continued to make me feel uncomfortable every single day (as long as I stayed there). 5. Food: just a couple of options for lunch and dinner. The breakfast was okay though (just omelette toast) 6. WiFi: It's there. 7. Family Friendliness: 0% 8. Solo traveller Friendliness: if you are a female, 0%. 9. Dog: The dog is always at the gate and keeps barking whenever someone enters. Doesn't bite though (probably). 10. Location: It's in the middle of the city and inexpensive. However, look for other options.
Since shillong is very expensive. This place offers an alternative. Cozy, clean interactive host n best part they arrange things for you even if they dont have it available. For backpackers and bikers this is the best option.
Think a million times before booking or paying an advance amount. One of the worst places you can stay. The bathroom and rooms are filthy. I would recommend staying in nearby hotels, which may be 100-200 bucks more expensive, but are worth it.

Hey everyone... I'm a biker, and this is my first hostel experience. Initially, little bit, I was afraid of the hostel stays as I don't have any idea how it works... But later, once I reached there, my opinion on the hostel entirely changed... I'm a budget traveler, and when I reached the owner - "Theo." You love this guy a lot. The owner himself is a traveler, and go without any plan. He will give you an itinerary and also he can suggest food joints to top restaurants. Initially, I thought to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying for 10 days. They cost you for 400, which is one of the cheapest and awesome stay I ever stayed. * Don't expect it will be like a hotel * Dorm rooms, which are Good * Washrooms are clean * WiFi is there * Hot water is there *There will be power off every day as per schedule. So, plan accordingly. * Scootys on rent available Hey Theo ! Get well soon, buddy... will be going to visit Shillong soon
