Tomb of Isa Khan is located in Nizamuddin of New Delhi. Ita a historical site which every tourist should visit to know about one of the most famous rulers of India, Isa Khan. Within the same territory, you'll get to see Humayun's Tomb too. The gigantic gates, ancient structures really amazed me. Though the way to the tomb is dirty and muddy, upon reaching there, you won't remember those watching the ancient archaeological site.
This beautiful octagonal tomb belonged to Isa Khan Niazi, an Afghan nobleman from the court of Sher Shah Suri of the Sur Empire. This dynasty ruled northern India briefly between 1538-1556. Opposite this tomb there is also a mosque building which is no less beautiful. The existence of this tomb even existed before Humayun's Tomb was built, which eventually became a complex unit Source: Instagram @boripmu
Isa Khan Niazi was an Afghan Nobel who served Lodhi's and was placed in the courts of Sher Shah Suri. During the time when Lodhis completely dominated India, the duo of Khan brothers was having a golden time being prominent members of the ruling family. Isa Khan was in the same tribal unit of nobles as Ibrahim Lodhi, Sher Shah Suri. Most of these families were attached to the Delhi sultanate.

Right at the entrance to Humayun's tomb is the tomb of Sher Shah Suri's Afghan origin noble. Apparently Isa Khan meant it to be a family mausoleum and he built it during his own lifetime. Catch the carved corbels at the entrance in pre sultanate era style. Walk through into an octagonal garden with the octagonal tomb structure at its centre. Walls enclose this region from all sides. Quartzite was the material of choice with Limestone plaster. Facade can be seen decorated with multiple pigment hues. This should ideally be your first stop before heading further into the large complex beyond. Average visit time would be around 20 mins.
