Indira Gandhi Co-Operative Hospital - Featured Reviews (715)
My dad was hospitalized due to a deep burn because of an electric shock. He was treated by Dr. Kochukrishnan (plastic surgeon). The doctor was very patient, kind and always clarified all our questions. My father was very comfortable in his presence and the way he treated him. Thank you Dr. Kochukrishnan and the amazing staff at the hospital especially Operation theatre staffs. The cleaning staff and other non medical staff were well behaved and helpful. Some areas where the management can improve are: 1. The echo room was very conjusted. 2. During rain the parking area was full of mud and dirt. We can't even walk to the hospital after parking the car. 3. Sometimes there are more patients and visitors than the hospital can handle. The management should think about expanding and improving the facilities.
Hospitals are places for care and kindness but alas! I got a very bad vibe from this hospital, that made me to write this. we, my wife and myself checked into this hospital to consult with Dr. Sidheek, pediatrician for my child's illness. I took my 4 year old younger child also with us. But the assistant nurse in the cabin refused entry to my 4 year old younger son and insisted on leaving him alone outside. She was very rude and adamant. How can a hospital staff behave like this!! I am writing this just to inform the authorities, there are people like this working in your institution. I don't want to blame the entire system.. but some like this needs to be called out.
My father who was 84 had to undergo a surgery (towards the end of July 2023) to fix a bone fracture on his upper right leg near the hip. One week after the surgery his condition deteriorated and he passed away after the subsequent week. We were aware that due to old age there were risk factors. But I feel the medical field should be empathetic, transparent, honest and the approach to patients should be more holistic. After a week when my father's condition deteriorated, the real situation should have been informed to us than admitting him in ICU and putting him through all that suffering. I am sure Doctors knew what was coming. As far as I know any ICU is hell. It really pains me no end thinking of the suffering my father had to endure in his final days especially after second admission which was in ICU. Had the real situation been informed to us by the Doctors, we would have made a decision to let him be at home and pass away more peacefully. Suffering is so traumatizing than death itself. Dr. Saneer Kottarathil who was the Doc for my father came across as arrogant and sarcastic at times. I also somehow feel that Quser 25mg tablet prescribed for my dad amongst other medicines was not needed nor it suited him. I don't understand why this tablet was prescribed for him instead of tablets like Restil or Alprax for managing anxiety, panic disorder. I really wish and request the medical field to have a more holistic and empathetic approach to patients always. My only little solace were the kind nurses who attended to my father and also the Surgeon Doctor Sijad who appeared to be compassionate by nature.
Dear Dr.Prasanna Bai and staff Thnk u so much for the exceptional care I received. I had c section in 2014 at IGCH.The gynecologist was Dr .Prasanna Bai.The Dr and the staffs were very helpful throughout the period of admission till discharge. The staffs behaviour was really impressive especially first floor staffs.Over all a great experience for me .Keep up the good work.Your compassionate care made a stressful experience tolerable. Once again I am thankfull to first floor staff ,NICU ,Labour room and OT staff. I will keep all of you in prayers as you continue caring for others.
Update : Nov-24-2024, Got to know that the ICU (Cardiac) is not Hygienic and clean enough. The overhead fans , looks like they have not been cleaned for ages and have accumulated all kinds of Dust, dirt, Fungal , heaven for dangerous Microbes,,,, Please someone in the Hospital note this down and inform the appropriate persons and save peoples lives !!! ****** Sick , low IQ, careless, Egoistical, Entitled attitude of a few staff. Really disheartening and appalling. As the rule of law goes, the lower level staff usually just mimic and project the attitude of the higher level staff. So if there needs to be any improvement in attitude. There needs to be a willingness at the top level to be sincere, honest and wanting to serve the helpless public who come to the hospital with just their hope of expecting some basic human decency and respect. Customer Relationship Orientation training is VERY NEEDED and sensitivity towards the Customer (Patients and their desperate family members).. All the best !!!
Better Doctors are there but the management is utter failure to run it . Atleast put some staffs in the counter with smiling face when they are receiving money. attitude of almost all staffs are irrespective .
Hi Everyone, I am abhaya thilak , blessed with a baby boy on 13th July. My child is very fortunate to have been born through Dr Ranjith Ramakrishna sir's hands. During my delivery time it was c section and with the support of Dr Ranjith sir and all other labor room staffs I was able to deliver my baby safely. My whole experience was made very pleasant, safe and thanks to my doctor once again .. I will forever remember your wonderful treatment and care for both the baby and me.
Hospital facilities and your amazing skills gave me excellent care and made me comfortable. Everyone was friendly and caring especially nursing staffs ..this made me very relaxed because most of the time we interact with those people and share our worries ..
