Hotel the Regency - Hotel in Pahalgam - Anantnag, India

This was the worst hotel we just stayed for 15 mins and wanted to go back as there deluxe rooms were very bad full of dirt and cement work and the whole place was a wreck. And plz mind it's 15 km away from pahalgam main city. Really a bad place to stay

Giving it 1 star, just to post a review. Otherwise this hotel is a 0/5, the service is so bad, the rooms are smelly and filled with flies. The food is so unhygienic. There was dust on the floors. My room had 2 towels and both were stained already, i even asked for more and still they provided with stained towels.

Pathetic service, rooms are smelly and not even cleaned , the food is so unhygienic, they were serving us 3 days old omelette, the rooms had so many insects. Do not prefer this hotel

Location is good, you can reach the banks of Lidder river by just stepping out of the hotel campus and crossing the road. It's not in proper Pahalgam, it's situated lot before main Pahalgam market area, at least 5 km before and is closer to the river-rafting point. There is nothing in the vicinity so it might be difficult if you do not have your own private vehicle. The hotel has its own restaurant and we had breakfast & dinner both included in our room tariff. The options were limited and taste-less. There were no starters (apparently the concept of starters does not exist in Kashmir), one lousy dessert and cabbage gravy. The food was even worse than an office cafetaria in a tech-park. Paneer Gravy was the only item in the dinner worth eating. Breakfast was also limited and there was only one staff member who was trying to arrange everything so replenishment of the finished items was taking time. Though water is available all through out the day, hot water is available for limited hours from 7:30 PM to 10 AM next day. We have booked two rooms and were given a Family Room where two rooms were interconnected with one main entrance and two bathrooms. The drain was clogged in one of the bathroom and thus water was getting accumulated which was promptly fixed when we complained about it but this should have been checked before allocating the room to the guest. The concept of a hair-dryer in bathroom is also apparently non-existent in Kashmir. There was AC and Electric Blankets in the room. Electric Kettle with tea-coffee sachets were provided in the room. They can fill-up your water bottles at the restaurant, thus unlimited supply of normal drinking water free of cost. Most of the major Hindi TV Channels were available, they had Tata Sky. Slippers were provided in the room which was really considerate. Very high step/stair to get into and out of bathroom from the bedroom, something to keep in mind if you are travelling with kids or senior citizens. No elevator, again something to keep in mind of you are travelling with senior citizens. Staff is good and helpful and reception is proactive in taking steps to fix something if you complain. Very dirty linen in the room, the towels, blankets, sheets were all badly stained and I guess have not been washed for ages. One on the days, it was raining so there were no towels to provide to the hotel guests. Hotel Wifi is not reliable and very sketchy, it's fine for Whatsapp but don't expect to be able to work/stream with this bandwidth. Pro-Tip: If you are used to staying at other places in the 8-10K range of hotels, make sure to increase your budget to approx 15K+ in Pahalgam & Sonamarg for the same kind of standard and services. The ones that you get for 8-10K are just garbage like this one. And probably even more for Gulmarg, or just do a day-trip to Gulmarg from Srinagar. A 8-10K budget for a Srinagar hotel is just fine.

Please do not book the rooms. The location is ok but the rooms are worst The door locks doesn't work. Post locking the door check thoroughly if the door is really locked. They are made of worst quality. The rooms are smelly, the food is below average , tv doesn't work, wifi work only in the reception blah blah

The regency is situated before main Pahalgam market area, at least 5 km before. But it is situated just beside the Liddar river. Which makes this place awesome. We stayed in a deluxe room, view from the window is awesome. The hotel has its own restaurant. The meal was included in our room tariff. The food was also tasty. Many options in veg and non veg food are available.

Rooms were dirty and dusty. Cobwebs around. Morning breakfast timings are late. Post 8.15 am. Rude managers. They took fine of rs 500 from me for loosing an access card. Food was extremely average. The dining places were dirty, left over food was not getting cleaned.

The hotel is situated 15 kms. before the Pahelgaon town. Excessive flies in the rooms. Those are badly disturbing all occupants tourists all the time. Management is indifferent to solve the issue. Room service is not up to the mark. Otherwise everything is OK. Location is really awesome just on the bank of river Lidder.
