Hotel Sonar Tori - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

Stayed here for 5 days in the 1st week of September, when I was on my leisure vacation in Gangtok. They staff went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. I chose the food+stay plan, where I was provided a view room on the 1st floor and food from breakfast to dinner. The taste, quality, and quantity of the food are top-notch.

Hotel Sonar Tori in Gangtok exceeded all my expectations. The staff's exceptional behavior, combined with the outstanding food quality and stunning mountain views from top floor executive sitting area, the well-maintained room, made it a five-star experience. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!

The worst hotel ever: 1.they closed the water in the bathroom, we couldn't use the bathroom due to that. Therefore, we had to change the hotel ASAP. 2.the bedsheets are so old, dirty and smelly. 3.the bulb suddenly cracked and sparked and the electricity went off. Never gonna use this hotel ever after.

But let me tell you, it wasn't just the staff who made our stay memorable. The manager, who quickly became our go-to person for everything, went above and beyond to make our trip truly special. Not only did they ensure that our needs were met at every step, but they also became our personal guide, helping us plan our daily adventures and explore the best of Gangtok. We owe many of our cherished memories to their thoughtful recommendations. And let's talk about the perks! The hotel offers free and secure parking, which was a big relief for us since we had our own vehicle. It was such a comfort knowing that our wheels were safe and sound throughout our stay. And the icing on the cake? The complimentary wifi was lightning-fast, clocking in at a whopping 100 Mbps! Can you believe it? We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel's generosity, keeping us seamlessly connected throughout our stay. Now, let me take you to our slice of paradise within the hotel. We were lucky enough to snag the executive suite, and oh boy, it was pure bliss! The moment we stepped into the suite, we were greeted by a stunning mountain view lounge that took our breath away. Picture-perfect doesn't even begin to describe it! Every evening, we would unwind in that cozy corner, savoring the majestic vistas and creating memories that will stay etched in our hearts forever. To sum it all up, our stay at Hotel Sonar Tori was beyond exceptional. The staff treated us like their own, the manager became our trusted ally, and the amenities were top-notch. It felt like we were staying with old friends rather than at a hotel. If you're searching for a place that feels like a second home, look no further. Very very very bad hotel I ever seen. The manager was so bad. He and his wife make fool of us. Such a worst quality food they gave. They gave absolutely worst room. Such a bad quality room in groundfloor. There was no water. The manager took extra money from us by complaining. Please don't go in this hotel. Very bad people they are. Please don't go. Your money will be waste by taking their food. No taste at all. The staff are good but the manager and his wife was so rude. They told us bad language also. The refuse to gave food in the earlier. Such a worst hotel I ever seen before

I visited gangtok in the month of June and stayed in Sonar tari for 4 days along with my family. The owner of the hotel was extremely polite and humble. The location of the hotel was not too far from the main market i.e. MG marg. One can easily take a taxi costing Rs 20 per person. We booked a double bed room, it had attached bathroom with 24 hrs water facility. Our stay at the hotel was really comfortable. Highly satisfied with the service provided.

We stayed in this hotel last month but our experience was really bad . Firstly the comod flush was not working after requesting they changed the room. After day one there were regularly electricity and water problems. The manager's behaviour was the worst. My 12 months was banging on the glass window and he thought he could break it with his tiny hand. He was always talking rudely.They had issues with our travel agent i don't know that might be one of the reasons for their rude behaviour. After day 2 his behaviour was better. About the room , it was small . The location is good though. Gangtok ropeway is only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. About the food quality I personally didn't find it good. You will get shared taxi from the hotel also.

Checked in on 14th of June and checked out on 16th of June 2023. Pro: 1. On the main road. 2. Hardly 50 m from Gangtok Ropeway. 3. Near Deorali Taxi stand. 4. Shared taxis are available 24x7 for MG Road at Rs 20 per person. 5. Polite and professional staff behaviour. 6. Rooms are clean, hygienic and spacious. 7. If you want, the owner can provide you with a taxi service at an affordable rate for Gangtok tour as well as for your other requirements. 8. Food is very tasty. A dedicated beautiful dining area is available. 9. Special mention: (If you are visiting the property with an infant or a baby) Aunty (Room owner's wife) will take care of all the immediate requirements of your infant/baby. Con: Not observed.
