Hotel Sagar Niralay/hottel saagr niraalaay' - Guest house in Contai - Medinipur East, India

It was a short weekend trip for us with a pleasant stay. The food was really to good. The Baguran beach is really very calm and peaceful and you will hear the barking of fox from the beach bank during the dawn. The staffs of the hotel are very good and friendly, specially the owner Mr. Subhash is ready to help you out at any point of time as required. Only problem is with the mattress of the beds. They providers 2 single mattresses for a single bed, which creates very difficulty, while sleeping.

If you like nature then you must visit this hotel. Because there are you feeling sound of sea .smell of beach,silent of nature. You can discover won. Good hotel management. Kitchen facilities. Restaurants facilities. Every thing is good and perfect.

We visited the place just yesterday to have lunch and had asked for a normal mud crab thali, which is a household delicacy and one which we have previously had on various occasions But instead, we were served an exotic variety, which locals suggest unfit and thereby, avoid for consumption. We had no such knowledge and had eaten it trusting the restaurant completely. They never mentioned anything about the difference of the crab we were served and the crabs that people mostly eat. In fact, this particular species of crab had killed a few people previously due to severe allergic reactions. One of our friends instantly started developing symtoms and experienced serious shortness of breath while others had symptoms like hives on the skin, cough, burning and choking of the throat and numbness in the tongue. We all rushed to the nearest government hospital and all of us were advised immediate hospitalisation and to get admitted in emergency just due to the sheer callousness and negligence of this resort. This is so unfortunate that before serving a species that is dangerous and has triggered severe allergic reactions in many, they never gave us any disclaimer. We are leaving this review behind so that others like us won't have to face such drastic consequences and risk their life while having the food served at this place. We don't want anyone to go through the harrowing trauma we had to experience yesterday. Stay safe and updated. Better to be safe than sorry!

Great place to spend time with friends and also family. Good environment. Food is costs a little bit high.

Very bad experience. Hotel location not at all worthful. Bathroom not cleaned properly. They don't clean the room daily. Food is not at all good. They give stale food. Pls don't waste money.

Sagar Niralay Guest House is currently the only place to stay overnight in Baguran Jalpai. It's a very nice, secluded place with the beach within 500 meters from the guest house. I enjoyed the calmness, the walk through the village road to the beach and the lonely beach in early morning, it's an amazing experience. As far as the guest house goes, the rooms are good but I personally think that the room tariff is bit high, staffs are very polite and helpful, it has ample parking space. Only downside is that there is no network coverage in the area and the WiFi works only in the ground floor.

Went there on a trip with my friends. Returned with hospital bills and other bills to save our lives after eating their crab thali. They almost killed us even after knowing that this crab is poisonous. Please report them and never go here. We missed death narrowly.

Wonderful resort. You'll get all facilities in a virgin beach. Behavior of staffs is very good. They are always ready to help you. Only drawback is whenever you go out you will have to tell them to give the AC line calling the reception after coming back. The auto-rickshaw man of the hotel is also very helpful . The manager is all-smiling and will try to fulfil all your requirements. Food is very tasty and of great quantity, but lack of variety in vegetables. There are more potatoes than vegetables in their dishes. I request them to look into the matter. Cottages are cheaper and may give you a solitary ambiance but if you want comfort the rooms of the main building specially of the second floor is suggested. Full tide timing is 12 p.m to 2 p.m. So visit all the beaches during that hour.
