Hotel Mainak - Hotel in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

Very bad hotel,No any service provide by hotel, breakfast time 7.30 but even 8.00 o'clock not ready for providing break fast and also in bathroom no hot water system is working. And hotel lacation is in deep area and in residence area,main bazar is very long from hotel.

Hotal staff all of us very good and helping with good behaviour....dinner and brkfast is very delicious.. somik dada is great person .... thanks somik dada for cooperative ... Location and room ratings 3-4 Star and other staff behaviour and dinners brakfast all have 5 Star rating

Location of hotel is very deep inside residencial area, you will not get anything nearby. So you are bound to eat at restaurant only. As per India's main part city standards, it is a 2.5 star hotel not a 4 star as described in google. The service is excellent.

It was a poor experience. The staff was not very helpful. Rooms were below average and the location is very difficult to reach even if you want to explore other places it's not very conveniently located. You would end up walking uphill and bargaining with auto drivers. The place needs an update. Everything seemed very dated. The airconditioner in my room only made a lot of noise and was unsuccessful in making the room cold. When we complained they just said it like that and nothing can be done about it. Truly a poor experience. Would not recommend this place.

Location is tuff to reach, it's in the hilly area. Rooms are good for this price (~2.5k) No water bottles they fill tap water. Power cut is there through out the day and Ac , hotwater won't work if power fails. Staffs are friendly , dinner have been included in our package and it's great I would say, must try buffet dinner except the soup . Morning they gave packed breakfast as we checkout early morning, so kind of .

Hotel Mainak is located at ABC colony in Shadipur, Port Blair. It is easily accessible from Airport and Phoenix Bay Jetty as both are within 20 min drive. If you don't have your own vehicle or hired vehicle then you have to walk uphill for 200 mtrs to get a vehicle. The rooms are clean and spacious with a balcony on the other side for view. On the third floor, some rooms offer a distant sea view but not great. Food is terrible and cannot be complemented at all and although the staff is helpful, they will pack breakfast if you have an early morning ferry. Wifi only works near the reception only.

I went to the restaurant of this hotel on 18 Jan along with my family for dinner. The restaurant ambience was good. I had a bad experience with the restaurant staff. Ihad ordered for 2 veg dishes and bread items. The staff told me that it'll take 20 minutes for preparation of food. After 20 minutes nothing came and after 1 hour, on asking the status of my order repeatedly, one rudely speaking person came out-of restaurant (staff told me he was owner ) and told me that we are disturbing his kitchen. I told him that they told 20 minutes for my order and even after 1 hour we are still waiting and now he came to told us that our order is disturbing his kitchen. I told him that he is not able to deliver my order due to other guest order(in house guests as the restaurant was empty and we were the only customers there) ishisproblem and not mine. Then after heated discussion, they bring one vegetables and few chapattis. Although the food was average, the service was extremely poor and the staff was very unprofessional. My suggestion is to avoid going to this restaurant if you are not staying in the hotel.
