Hotel Karsonam - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

NEVER EVER book this hotel to stay in Gangtok. Book any XYZ hotel, but not this. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in my entire life. Rooms are tiny and suffocating, you will get breating problem while sleeping. You can't even sit on the toilet seat. Always there is smell coming from toilet to your room. Bedsheets are dirty. No house keeping, no service at all, and on top of this, most of the time, there will be no water in bathroom. The stay was pathetic. My request to everyone please please STAY AWAY from this hotel.

Worst place to stay in Gangtok. Better to stay on MG Marg under open sky. Worst service, worst condition rooms and toilet is a challenge to sit on. Bedsheet might have been changed decade ago. All dirty, stained and smelly. And the owner is very casual about complaints. Better stay at "Maach n Macha". Just beside it and way better.

Hotel stuffs are very friendly and try to make you comfortable in every possible way. Only for their behavior this hotel can get good rating. Otherwise, rooms are very small and you can't open your window. Restaurant orders need to be submitted before 7:30pm. Breakfast options are very limited and costly.

One should avoid the stay while travelling with family. No restaurant facility. No housekeeping. They even forgot to change the bed linen before check in. The geyser was not functioning at first night. Only two staff for everything else. Its only positive is 2 minutes walking distance from the mg marg.

The owner's attitude is very rough and rude, we booked one room recently on our Gangtok Trip. As the night life of MG Marg is vibrant and enjoyable, we came late after dinner, and found that the hotel door was closed and nobody was present at the reception counter. We tried all the possible ways to make the door open by thumping the door and calling the cell number given, but there was no response. And we were forced to spent the whole night under the sky outside the hotel. There was no other way to get another hotel. They opened the door around 7 AM next morning. It was the worst experience ever. The next day we got sick and the trip was definitely spoiled. After informing the situation and irresponsible behaviour of receptionist to hotel owner, he did not care about our hardship and took side to his employee ( just a layman) only. This hotel does not even deserve 1 star, you will not get any responsive care, he just care about the money. Last and not the least, the beautiful Gangtok city doesn't deserve this kind of people who has no humanity and proper attitude towards their guest.

The room was small but the view is useless. The bathroom was most weird. It was so small and one has to go to the shower area by passing the comode and it was so narrow that one almost has to touch the comode. Using the comode also needs our of the box thinking as it's quite narrow. The geaser takes forever to heat water. Service is worse. They didn't give towel. When we asked for it, they gave only one. Cleanliness was also an issue. Only good thing is that the hotel is at walking distance from m g mark

Worst hotel service. Owner is from Kolkata and management people are Bihari. As usual behaviour of Biharis-clever mind. There service is worse. I cleared my hotel charge a day before depart. After that their behaviour got change. In the morning they didn't even call taxi for me. When I asked them please call taxi. Behari guy said how can I manage. But while I was paying amount other guy he said they will call taxi and do all the needful help. So my wise advice- whenever you go tour for Sikkim. Choose those hotel whose owner is local of Sikkim. Locals are very kind and helpful.

The Hotel is located very close to the M.G. Road and the Hotel Staff is quite friendly. They play guitar music occasionally to entertain the guest and they also arrange for local sightseeing tours... Loved the hotel!
