Hotel Himachal - Hotel in Chandigarh - S.a.s Nagar, India

The hotel was very clean. When I come to Chandigarh, I stay at Hotel Himachal only because it had very good service and friendly staff. All of you must give them a chance to serve. I am telling my experience, I am very happy with their service because there is a peaceful atmosphere.

Room was very clean and hygienic. Niether mosquito nor house fly were observed during my long stay of 16 days. All services including food, safety and behaviour of staff are praiseworthy. This hotel is the best among hotels in Chandigarh. Stay here for more pleasure and comfortable.

Pros: The staff and managers were well mannered and courteous. I opted for a Classic room (Room no.102). It was neat and clean. The bed and pillow covers were clean overall with some spots here and there. A warm blanket and a quilt were available for passing a chilly night comfortably. They were clean too. The bathroom was clean. They had a solar water heater instead of an electric one which did not make any difference as hot water was available as and when required by me. Room service was sometimes slow but mostly on time. They would also clean your room in your absence if you leave the keys with them before going out and instruct them to do so. Public conveyances were easily available nearby for daily commutation. Food was available at economical rates and was simple & plentiful. A high speed Wifi with very good connectivity was also provided at no additional cost. Mobile signal reception (Airtel) was adequate in the room. A table & chair, a dustbin, full body mirror and a cupboard with a cloth hanger were also available in the room. Cons: 1. Its distance is far from the railway station.2. No free water is provided in jugs for drinking. Water bottles have to be purchased every time one needs at a cost of Rs.30 3. No wiper, soaps and towels were provided in the bathroom.4. There is no outside room view in Classic Room no.102. The window there opens towards the building shaft. 5. There was a lot of noise at late hours of night outside my room which disturbed my sleep during my two nights of stay there. I did not take this issue up with the manager but it should be taken up by other guests if they face this too.6. There was a telephone in my room for calling the reception but it was dead. There was a TV too with satellite dish connection but it was also inoperative.7. In breakfast, their aloo parathas had very thin potato filling in them which made them feel like simple saada parathas.Proximity to the Kendriya Sadan building where I had my exam related work. The managers and the staff were responsive to my requirements and were courteous & co-operative to students like me.
