Hotel Grand Hill - Hotel in Dharamshala - Kangra, India

I recently stayed at Hotel Grand Hill, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel had several issues that greatly impacted my stay and left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a lack of cleanliness. The rooms were unclean, with a foul smell that lingered throughout my stay. To make matters worse, there was an infestation of ants in the room, and despite requesting room cleaning, the issue was never adequately addressed. Additionally, I observed the wood splitting out from the walls in the hallway, which gave an overall sense of poor maintenance and neglect. The amenities in the room were lacking as well. The rust inside the kettle was a concerning sight, and the absence of a fridge was an inconvenience. Furthermore, the dustbin was in a deplorable condition, which made me question the hotel's cleanliness standards. The bathroom facilities were equally disappointing. The shower was leaking, causing water to spill onto the bathroom floor. This forced me to repeatedly contact the reception for assistance, and it was frustrating to not have access to basic necessities without having to rely on the staff. Speaking of the reception, their availability was inconsistent. There were times when the reception person was not present, and the intercoms were turned off, leaving me with no way to communicate with the hotel staff. This lack of communication and assistance made resolving issues even more challenging. To compound my problems, the hotel frequently experienced electricity issues. It was surprising that they did not have a power backup system in place, leaving guests in the dark during power outages. Given the high price charged for the room, I expected basic facilities to be available 24/7, including a reliable power supply. One aspect that showed some promise was the taste of the food served at the hotel. However, this positive aspect was overshadowed when my children discovered a metal wire in their food. This discovery was not only shocking but also raised concerns about the hotel's hygiene and food safety practices. Overall, my experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, water supply problems, and poor customer service left a negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel to others, as it failed to meet even the most basic expectations for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Just 100 MTR away from main hub and staff is so friendly that u won't feel awkward for anything.. food is awesome and service is super fast.. highly recommend with rooms very clean

We booked three rooms in this hotel for 20-21 june 2023. When we reached, there was no water no electricity. Toilets were smelling badly. We continue telling the staff for two hours to provide these services. Nobody refused but they were unable to provide the water in our rooms. The power supply was restored after two hours. They do'nt have any power back up. I told the staff to call manager. He did not turn up and even did not bother to talk over phone. After three hours when I shouted loudly the water supply was restored within five minutes. Water problem was also there next day morning. Apart from this problem, the rooms are clean and staff is polite. There is no parking place of the hotel. I parked my car in a private parking 700 meters far from the hotel.

Food service timing is troublesome else it's a good hotel. also, we got a front room at first floor which faced too much of noise of drivers as the parking lot is just in front and closer to the parking space! Hotel does not even think to prevent the noise at 11 in the night or 5 am in the morning!

A decent place to stay right in the center of McLeod. Rooms are good with a view but do not expect any luxury. They have out sourced the food to a hotel which is decent with the taste.

The hotel is located on Mall Road and offers wonderful mountain view from balcony. Mclondganj-Dharamshala sky way is at walkable distance. Food was good and room service is also fine. The rooms are okay and are as per price. I found washrooms stinky and had water clogging issues. Rest all was fine. We had a good time staying in this hotel.

Excellent hotel in main market area,5 min walk to macleodganj square. Manager Mr Nitin & other staf was very friendly.Rooms was neat & clean with all amenities.we stayed 3 nights with family. View from balcony was awesome

The hotel grand hill is located on the mall road in macloedganj. The rooms have good interior decoration but balcony door is not operating properly. In the bathroom, body lotion, face wash, shampoo etc toiletries not provided. Cleanliness is there. The hot water does not come in required quantity for bathing purpose. Proximity to the market is the only plus point.
