Hotel Dongkhela & Bengali Restaurant - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

If I could rate less than one star I would. A huge mistake staying here, luckily it was just for a night, I can imagine if I had booked for the whole weekend. The room windows had cracks, wind would blow in a little, the rooms were dirty, bathroom had spiders crawling, and they didn't even provide a soap and toilet paper. The management was absolutely not good, I had to shout at the manager in order to get extra blanket because it was cold. Well, overall a 0 star. Do not stay here, rooms are not even budget friendly. Although it is understandable if rooms were 300 and it looks shabby. But it's not!

Worst food in the Whole state SIKKIM. Never go there to eat or you may die having food there.. I ORDERED Fish Thali and they offered almost fermented rice ( Rice was smelling so bad) and next day I got hospitalized due to food poisoning. So please never visit to this HOTEL if you don't want to see yourself suffering.

It was the most horrible experience I had in any of. the hotels in India. I visited Gangtok in early Jan, considered to be peak season. I reserved two rooms through recommendation and accordingly paid the full advance (at higher rate). Upon arrival, while check in, realised that it was an absolute hoax. There was no light in some portion of the corridor, where rooms were allocated. the area was full of cobweb and shabby. No hot water supply! Bedsheets were full of stains and dirty!! The whole environment was unliveable!!! Thus, asked for refund. Mr. Navin (owner) refused to return the money and tried to fork out more by suggesting to take tour package from him at an enormous charge (nearly 4X time of the normal price). I had no choice but to look for alternate accommodation in the night. Upon request for the refund, Mr. Navin used foul language and stopped responding to phone calls. I tried to reach him using alternative numbers but he disconnected . I recommend NOT even consider to visit their website and pay any cent before personal approval of the ambience and the hospitality shown by the staff specially from the owner Mr. NAVIN!

Don't know about the rooms, had to go to the restaurant as I reached late in MG road and saw a Bengali Restaurant sign board. I ordered Fish Thali. Have to say it was the worst thali I had. People, please stay away from this scam restaurant.

We had dinner here which was average in taste with poor behavior of restaurant employee.

The location of the hotel is one of the best one on MG Marg...one can get view of both the Mall as well as the mesmerizing view of the mountains...the rooms are nice & clean...the service is also up to the mark...the staffs are really polite and the Bengali foods were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend everyone to enjoy their stay in this hotel.

This is the worst hotel i have ever seen in my life. Manager behaviour is really really bad. I am suggesting to everyone please don't go in this hotel.

Good location in MG marg is the only advantage. Stayed for 6 days very recently. Rooms average and tornout mattress. No soap and shampoo provided and towels and bedsheets not changed regularly. Hot water facility in bath was good. Food in the hotel and tour package from the hotel are not recomended at all. Overpriced as per facilities provided. Can expect better facilities and tour package from many other hotels in that amount.
