The Environment around the hostel is just awesome

Nice Hostel Bit old but food is good

Like other hostels in IIEST the accommodation is good. Bathroom are also good, washing machine is available in each floor. Besides the food is very much satisfactory and the 'Binod Da's canteen.

It is the good place to survive. Here one can get good and healthy with less oil food. Residing rooms are also good and big enough to live. But warden is worst people.

Mess food preparation is good, bill is not too high according to the food prepared. Hostel renovated, but lacking outdoor space for badminton court to be made unlike other hostels.

Hostel 16 is a hostel accommodating 3rd year students and is next to Hostel 15 and opposite to Sengupta Hall.There is a seperate mess for this Hostel comprising of almost 12 staffs which also serves M.Sc students' meal.It is a four story building having a staffs rooms and a common hall for Table Tannis and Television in ground floor.Each floor has 11 four seater rooms and a five seater room i.e 12 rooms in total.Overall accommodation capacity of this Hostel is 150 students.Each flour has a provision for toilet having 2 urinals,3 bathroom,2 basins,4 low step barrier-free shower pans one big mirror and a washing Machine.The best part about this Hostel is it is fully managed and maintained by students under supervision of a warden (current warden of H-16 is professor Subhashchandra Mondal, department of Mechanical Engineering) and a caretaker and other staff members.There is a provision of a permanent JMCR (Joint Mess Committee Representative) and temporary mess manager, sports secretary,Garden Ranger that keeps on changing and gives different Powers and responsibilities to students to acquire managerial skills.There is a badminton court in front of mess and a volleyball court behind the mess that specially belong to students of H-16.The next day's menu is decided by mess manager a day prior to it.We have a large rooftop that provides a 360deg eagle eye view of nearby area .Some of famous buildings that can be seen from here are The 42, secretariat NABANNA, Vidyasagar Setu,Burger factory, Rabindra Setu(Howrah bridge),Kona express way, Ramanujan Central library and beautiful Sunrise and Sunset.Our central library is just 100 miters displacement from here.Hostel 16 is repaired on yearly basis but power is in your hands you can go for any changes you want by talking to your warden.The environment is healthy and cooperative by the staffs side but also depands solely on which type of friends circle you have.This hostel is a place worth living. I have enjoyed a lot with my friends.The hostel has a lot of depth and character to it.You know there is a place called Kailash on the vary top,go ahead and find it for your self.Good luck :))

Spent my 3rd year here in Room 401. The view of the sunrise was the best part. Bishu da's canteen was the only place where one could get fried maggi in the campus. Miss this place....

Bad hostel. Worst mess you will find in any Indian institute. Dogs eat in the same plate. Toilets don't even have flush. In 21st century they use open drainage in bathroom toilet which is very unhygienic.
