Hinterland Village Resort - Yoga Retreat Center in Kochi - Ernakulam, India

We were so relieved to find an ayurvedic yoga resort where families are welcome. Unni and his skillful and loving team made us feel beyond welcome. We enjoyed healthy meals, dietary supplements according to personal needs and a good daily schedule of yoga, massages, philosophy and meditation. The view on their own rice paddy is wonderful. Our daughter particularly loved the farm (that was all around us) with organic fruits, veggies, herbs and spices. Beyond that Unni built a wonderful playground where we spend time with other kids and felt like one big family. We recommend people to stay 1,5-2 weeks if your busy schedules allow you to soak up some good vibes in Hinterland. The pool is nice, the bikes are good to have a ride around town, plenty of books and always great conversations with other guests or staff. Everything is taken care of and at great value for money.

I Will advise this place to everyone!!This place was a life changing experience for me! I was there a years ago for almost 2 month. I want to bring all my friends and family there! I discovered yoga there and much more... I still can't forget this place and be thankful to all the amazing people in this place. So beautiful soul and kind people. If you want to learn more about yoga this is the place for you. From The quality of the yoga course (swami, harry.. the best yoga teacher you could have), the theory course so interesting, the food is just unreal(everything we eating is from their land) , the beauty of this place surrender buy green. This is a place that will change you forever. You feel at home at hinterland. Thanks to Unni and everyone part of this family called Hinterland. If you want to learn more about massage, reiki , yoga... everything Uni will be there to help you and encourage you. Hard to describe how nourishing this place has been for me . Hinterland Village was a super experience to enjoy myself and get to know people with the same mindset. The owner Unni is super nice and arranges everything so all the guess feel comfortable and at home during the stay. This is a retreat where you will have yoga, meditation, ayurvedic/vegetarian (or vegan) food and visit from a doctor. Also yoga filosofy class with a Yogui who will help you see the world with new eyes. With my friend we were supposed to stay only 4 days, we ended staying for 6. Ill be definitely coming back in some years.

This is a magical place! From the moment i arrived here, till the moment i left... i just loved every minute of it. I stayed here for about 2 weeks. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks were gorgious and off course vegetarian. Everything was made fresh and with love. The also grow there own fruit and veggies here. The Yogapractices were beautifull and i enjoyed it so much! Also the guided meditation every day was beautifull. I also had several different kind of massages and each were so nice! I so recommand this place, if you want peace and quietness, to become one with yourself and nature, this is the place to be. I can't wait to come back here! You truly become a new person here.

I have been to Hinterland Village quite some time ago (Nov 22), but still having so many good memories from it!! Unni and his team is absolutely amazing and everything at this place just feels like home! I am so thankful for this experience and all the lovely people i met! Definitely coming back anytime in the future and i can totally recommend staying in Hinterland Village

Ce centre est merveilleux pour une retraite yoga et ayurveda. Ambiance paradis tropical pres des backwaters. Le personnel competent et aux petits soins. Les repas delicieux et vegetariens. Au bout de quelques jours (3-4), on sent les bienfaits sur le corps et le psyche. Pour se retrouver, se detoxifier des exces, se detendre, partager des sourires, la chaleur humaine est aussi au rdv. Je recommande vraiment !

There is no way to describe the harmony and bliss of this place ! Every little detail is amazing from Unnis vision, to the tree art, massages by Hari, yoga and meditation by Jayesh, and the team. Food is outstanding and fresh, juices and herbal teas to rejuvenate you. And a walk with Unni and Aloki showcasing all the sustainability projects is the icing on the cake :). Hope I will be back every year and more of us from this country can learn to enjoy the extraordinary joys of Hinterland. Seeing all the five stars I almost thought this was fake, but so glad some things in life are so genuine. Wishing everyone much equanimity in 2022 !

INCREDIBLE place. I did a 3-day yoga retreat and could say so many positive things about it. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, the yoga classes are well-paced and meaningful, the staff are SO helpful and kind, the food is healthy and extremely delicious, the other guests were friendly and open, and the experience was genuinely impactful. My only regret was not staying much longer!
