Himalayan Canvas - Home Stay in Khajjiar, Gajhnuhi - Chamba, India

We had a great stay and time spent at Himalayan Canvas. Vineet ji is quite helpfull and polite. Room was neat and clean. Food was awesome. Really would like to recommend. For sure on my next visit I would love to stay there. Thanks Vineet ji and wish you good luck...!

One of the finest homestay near Khajjiar I have been travelling from more than ten years and in my experience of home-stays this was one of the most easiest and beautiful experience i had. The location is absolutely in countryside. Just 3 km car ride from the main Khajjiar ground. I think its on the way to Chamba road. The homestay from inside-outside is beautiful. We were five friends and booked a double bedded room right in ground floor anyway i think they have this only one double bedded room. Other rooms are on first floor. Our one was really spacious and clean. The owner Vineet Thakur is a bit reserved man. I believe he should be bit more open hearted to his guests. Its not that he was rude or anything, in fact far from it. Its just he was quite distant whenever we engaged with him. The service man and i think he was cook as well, Mohit was really really nice person. He treated everything with a genuine smile. Food was great especially the lentil Yellow Dal Tadka we ordered in dinner. Kheer wasn't tasty as well the Halwa. Please focus on the deserts. Price was very affordable for two bedded room for our only single night stay. However keep note the checkout time is 10 am i think!!! I had only one issue with the kitchen. In MMT booking its included as shared kitchen in homestay deluxe room booking but i had to make negotiations with Vineet ji! Although he agreed to let us cook only one dish in kitchen we were nevertheless charged for it. Bonfire experience was also very privileged one. I know i am a bit cynical but this was one of the best nights and experience ever. Time permitted again we would love to stay more than 1 night in future. Room and bathroom are nice, clean and spacious. Even though it is 25km from Dalhousie bus stand, the location is good as it is just 3km from Khajjiar. Bus service is available once or twice a day to Dalhousie, Khajjiar, Kalatop etc from in front of the hotel. Food was tasty. The host and staff were polite and helpful, and gave useful suggestions about local travel and sightseeing. They also provide taxi service. If you happen to visit during snowfall, you will be lucky to get a stunning view from the hotel (we visited on 29-30 December, 2022). Overall, it was a great stay.

Nice location, 4 km from Khajjyar and 24 km away from Dalhousie. Nice view from the room, very good service and helpful staffs. They also provide taxy service, which is economical compared to others. Do take inputs from the staffs for planning sightseeing. You will also get local bus right in front of this stay, towards Khajjyar, Dalhousie and Chamba. Check bus timings with the hotel staffs. If you plan to take bus towards Delhi, Shilmla etc., book it from Chamba which is 20 km from this property. The Dalhousie road may get blocked if there is snow fall. So it is better to board from Chamba than Dalhousie.

Totally worth the price. At a quiet location away from the crowded tourist spots. The owners can arrange for acitvities. Food is okay. Service is great. Rooms are nice and clean.

One of the best home stay in Khajjiar and of course in entire himachal with affordable prices and superb hospitality. Thanks a lot Vineet bhai last but not the least view from the stay is breathtaking.

We booked our stay at the last minute but were very pleasantly surprised at the hospitality. Vineet was very helpful and nice. He shared some very nice recommendations of places to go and went out of his way to help us with the travel arrangement. The view from the homestay was spectacular and the food was one of the best meals I have ever had. This is surely a place I will visit again!! Thanks for making our stay so memorable

Nice rooms with quiet surroundings and valley view. If you plan to come here then take the Jot route from Pathankot instead of coming via Banikhet. This route has very less traffic and you don't have to pass the crowded Dalhousie and Khajjiar. From here there are separate roads to Chamba and Khajjiar.
