Haldwani - Train station in Haldwani - Nainital, India

Haldwani as a city seems to be one of the richest city in Uttrakhand. Since, I just passed through it on the way to Kainchidham I can not comment on the intricacies of this city. Railway Station and Bus Stand need more hygiene. The Garbage Dumping Yard near the reservation building of Railway station smells very bad. Similarly, Bus Stand SRTC is pretty chaotic due to private mini buses blocking the main entrance to the Bus Stand. NOTE: Beware of taxi, car, and mini bus agents at the Railway Station and Bus Stand... they can overcharge you... can drop you off route. So do your research before hiring anyone.

Haldwani railway station has improved a lot over the years. Privatization has also played a huge part in that. Earlier, people with AC tickets could only wait in the waiting rooms but now anyone can wait in the AC rooms for a very minimal amount of 10 rs/hr (for adults & 5rs/hr for a child). Still, there are many things that need to be taken care of like there should be a proper stand where the rickshaw drivers and cab drivers should stay and the passengers can book them from there. These people crowd the entrance/exit of the railway platform making it very difficult for passengers to come out or enter the platform. Or they can make two separate gates for entry and exit. Also, the parking charges are an issue over here, I have personally encountered some problems like they only collect charges when some higher authorities are not there like early morning or late at night, they don't even bother to collect the charges in broad daylight.

The railway station is nice and clean. There are two waiting rooms, one free and one paid (AC lounge), both of which are clean. The overall station experience was positive. The train arrived on time. The only disadvantage was that some charging ports did not work.

It is a bit away from main market area. Though the services and facilities are good but the authorities should work on making it more clean and hygienic. The area around the station is covered by slums so there is safety and security concern.

Haldwani railway station is a main railway station located in Haldwani in Nainital district of Uttarakhand State of India. Clean and beautiful railway station. This is a small station and is the second last station here. Basis facilitates like drinking water, toilets and ATM are available here

It's good but still not fully complete it need more construction work here , i get water issue it has but very less nozzle here ..

Neat and clean. Commercialization of the railway station has been started, earlier to wait in a.c. waiting you need to produce only your a.c. train ticket, but now you need to pay rupee 10 for an hour, to wait in the haldwani railway station.

Haldwani Railway station is not too big as there are only 2 platform. It is very clean from inside as well as outside. Dustbins available inside platforms.You will get connectivity to every place near Haldwani from station. Autos, e-rickshaw or cab are available 24/7 outside the station. If you want to visit any hill station you need to come to Haldwani. Places like bhimtal/ nainital is very near around 1.5 from railway station you will get sharing cabs from there. Railway station and bus station are also very near to each other. Haldwani market is around 1 km from the railway station. There are many stalls and shops for fast foods, tea and drinks. ATM is also available. Indira Gandhi international stadium is visible from the railway station as it is too near. Gaula river is also situated near the railway station if you are having sometime you can visit the river. Train coaches are written over the board 15 mins before the train arrival.
