This gurudwara sahib is situated at the place where Guru Gobind Singh sahib ji (10th Sikh Guru Sahib) rested under a tree using a earthen vase as pillow. As per the Sikh history , After the martyrdom of Guru Sahib ji's two Sahibzadaas in the battle of Chamkaur , Guru sahib ji reached in the forest of Machiwara ( this whole are was covered with trees and it was a heavy forest at that specific time) Also some Sikh sources says that Guru sahib ji composed a Hymn :"MITTAR PYAARE NU HAAL MURIDAAN DA KEHNA...." At this specific place There is a historical well (Khuh khuh , khuuh) where guru sahib ji took some water from and stayed here for some time This well is very well preserved and taken care of. Sikh sangat used to take water of this well as ambrosial Nectar and respects the olden tree too I am sharing some pictures of that place too

This place is highly important in sikh history and It gives sacred feeling to visitors and important place also because SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI came here in jungle of Machhiwara after martyrdom of his whole family to protect humanity and also to fight against the forceful conversion on Hindu people and to provide prosperity to Sikh religion and spread sikh religion more .

Gurdwara Charan Kanwal at Machhiwara marks the site of the garden where Guru Gobind Singh had a sip of water and a spell of brief sleep. It was here that his three devotees Bhai Mani Singh, Bhai Daya Singh and Bhai Dharam Singh joined him. The sacred shrine commemorating the historical event, has a beautiful building, worthy of the holy tradition. An annual congregation fair is held in December, corresponding to 9th & 10th of Poh, the days of Guruji stay at Machiwara. Another shrine popularly called Gurdwara Chubara Sahib is located at Machhiwara. Here at the house of Masand Gulaba where the Guru spent the night. The place is known as 'Gulaba da Chubara'. It is here that the Guru sang the shabad "Mitra Pyare Nu". The Gurdwara is supplied water from the same well believed to be the one from which garden was watered during those days. An annual congregation fair is held in December, corresponding to 9th & 10th of Poh, the days of Guruji stay at Machiwara.

It's the historical place related with tenth sikh guru "Guru Gobind Singh ji." After the war of chamkaur sahib.. guru sahib came here alone.. in the jungle of named as Machhiwara ... guru sahib passed a night of December 1704 at here and sung the song of thanks towards Akal purkah under a tree.. "Mittar Pyare nu haal mureedan da kehna".. in the holy memory of guru sahib it's name is charan kawal sahib.... gurdwara complex is very clean and fulfill with trees and flowers.. langar facility very well... parking also good... all over this place is the center of sikh devotion.

Peaceful place and really a good one to visit. People came here from very distant locations. It is 4 km away from my home Rattipur, and I often visit this place whenever I want a soulful day.
