The temple site is indeed 7-8th century old, Gurjara-Partihara era Shaiva monastery. However, continuously inhabited upto 16th century. The site was well know pilgrimage place among local communities. There are around 20 small shrine, all belong to Nagara-Latina Architecture except one in the beginning which is typical Valabhi architecture. The site was visited by a group of Archaeology students under the helm of Professor R. A. Sharma of Jiwaji University and explore various aspect of Pratihar era temple architecture.
There is no direct route to this place, however there is a short route upto the foothills of the temple site, there a SUV can reach, but will have to walk around 500 meters to reach to the exact location. Please follow Google map to reach the site, although a trail can be followed to the site as an alternative. Please beware of snakes and other dangerous insects.

Its a beautiful place. One of our local friend told us that it used to be a gurukul where they taught students to make these sculptures. There are group of temples also called as bateshwar group of temples. Seeing them destorted it really hurts. I hope government makes some efforts to preserve it and make it useful for the visitors to see. Its also listed as a UNESCO world heritage site located in the outskirts of the gwalior city at a distance of about 30 kilometres from the main city.
The place is not visited by many people. The temple complex is old. Needs renovation. It takes about ten minute walk to reach the temple from both ways. The place is awesome for one day picnic/outing.
Nareshwar is a chain of Shiva temples located about 30 km from Gwalior and about 50 km from Morena. Although the way to come here is not yet right. But these temples are believed to have been built in the 3rd to 7th centuries. It is not yet completely clear whether these were made in the Gupta period or in the Gurjar Pratihara period. There are ponds near the Nareshwar temple. That's why Shiva temples were built here by cutting the rocks under them. Means Jal Lok was converted into Shivdham. During the rainy season, the water of the spring falling due to the ponds comes out after touching the Shivling. In such a situation, the view here becomes very attractive.
Historical religious place Nareshwar is located in the forests of Rithora area, 50 km away from Morena, on the border of Gwalior and Bhind. The area is so remote that there is no way to reach it. After walking about three kilometers through bumpy roads, this place is situated in the mountains surrounded by forests. The construction of the temples here is believed to be from the third to the fifth century (Gupta period), but their magnificence developed during the Pratihara period of the ninth century.
