Very very peaceful place,good for treking

Coolest place..I loved it . When I visited it was so Windy & fresh water..

Gunjuru Mouji Kere is currently a large expanse of grass lands studded with trees. Hardly any water in the lake. You can access the lake from the main road, there is an entrance without any gate or gaurd (consequently people have dumped garbage inside the entrance). There is a great potential in developing and rejuvenating this lake and making it a green patch which citizens can enjoy.

Please don't be misled by the beautiful scenic pics shared by few reviewers. There are two gunjur lakes(the scenic one is near ghati subramaniam, Doddaballapur road), this one "used to be" a lake. Now there is a dry patch of land surrounded by trees besides the highway. Though i loved the calmness and the smell of leaves/grass here.

Gunjur Lake is near to Makalidurga hill which in 80 odd kilometers from bangalore. Its a serene place to have a peaceful time. Visit this place during or after the raining season to have the best view. The lake is surrounded by hills which makes it even more beautiful. You can pic a location and sit, enjoy the view of the lake. Its also ideal spot for picnic/ lunches. Its a good weekend getaway from Bangalore, just 2 hours drive. If one is interested, can go on a trek in Makalidurga Hill which is about 2 kms away.

A picnic spot to just chill and relax with your family and friends. Good at sunrise and sunset. A 60+ km drive from Bangalore. Get them sandwiches and go chill out there! It's a nice drive and a great spot to be at.
