GT Grande Hotel-Near US Consulate & Singapore Consulate - Hotel in Chennai - Chennai, India

During our visit to Chennai on 21st October, we booked two rooms at the GT Grand hotel for a two-day stay. However, due to a terrible experience, we decided to leave after just one day. Our stay at the GR Grand Hotel was extremely disappointing. The hotel lacked proper car parking facilities, forcing us to park on the road side or in front of other properties. Additionally, the hotel had a bar attached to it, and loud music played constantly day and night. The noise was so bad that we could hear police sirens in the middle of the night, and the music only stopped then. Moreover, the people from the bar were very noisy, and it was challenging to get a peaceful atmosphere. The AC in the room was controlled by a fixed temperature and single speed, and there was no remote. I called reception several times to get someone to check the AC, but nobody arrived. The room was infested with cockroaches, and it was not maintained properly. The bathroom was also dirty and untidy. To top it off, the breakfast served was terrible. None of my family members could eat anything from the plate. We paid around 700/- extra for breakfast for two rooms, which was a complete waste of money. After complaining at the reception about the untidiness of the rooms, the absence of an AC remote, the noise, and the breakfast, the staff was very unresponsive and had a terrible attitude. They did not take any action to resolve the issues and instead, blamed the kitchen guy. We asked for coffee, but nobody cared enough to provide it, and we waited for 15 minutes before leaving the place. Finally, at the reception, the staff said they knew we would give a negative rating on Google. I would advise everyone not to be fooled by the price, free breakfast, location or reviews. This hotel is very disappointing, and it is not the place to stay with family, especially if you are planning for a vacation.

This by far has been the worst place I have stayed in Chennai... 1. The rooms were/are not maintained well, there were cockroaches, mosquitos and rats. 2. The room floors were sticky. 3. Flushes were either broken or very leaky. 4. Bathroom floors were super slippery. 5. Loud music played at their Bar located in their basement. 6. Power outages 7. Lack of dressing tables and mirrors (had stuck two reflective stickers in the name of mirrors) 8. One cannot wait in the lobby because it stank baaaddd and the mosquitoes, good lord the mosquitoes.

In one word "NOT RECOMMENDED"!!!Despite booking a family suite with breakfast included, we faced significant problems right from the beginning.Firstly, the AC in the room was not functioning properly for the initial two days, resulting in a lack of cooling. Despite multiple complaints, the issue was not promptly resolved, and there seemed to be a miscommunication among the staff regarding a potential room change.Furthermore, we found the cleanliness of the alternative room suggested to be unsatisfactory, which led us to decline the offer. Although the air conditioning eventually started working after two days, it was evident that there were maintenance issues. After this, we were met with the unwelcoming sight of hotel staff members wearing displeasure on their faces.Additionally, we observed small cockroaches in the rooms, which raised concerns about hygiene.Moreover, the hotel did not meet the expectations set by the amenities. Several promised amenities were not provided such as NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING, NO MIRROR IN THE ROOM (a silver sheet was pasted), NO TOILETRIES (Just a small piece of soap), NO CUPBOARDS WITH LOCKS, NO DENTAL KIT, NO SLIPPERS, NO TOILET PAPER, NO SANITIZERS, NO NEWSPAPER, 2 TOWELS FOR 3 PEOPLE.The complimentary breakfast experience was disappointing as well. We were informed that it would be delivered to our room between 8-8:30 am. However, we had to make repeated calls to receive it, and the quality did not match the price paid.I would like to mention that the hotel only provided one 1L complimentary water bottle per day for three people, and even that was provided upon request. For a three day stay, they have given 4 bottles of water and asked us to pay for them during the checkout. When argued, they have charged Rs25 for one bottle making the other 3 complimentary.On a positive note, the option for extending the checkout time for a fee of Rs150 per hour was reasonably priced and very convenient (The check out time is 11am, and 1 hour is provided as complimentary).Overall, my experience at the hotel did not meet the standards expected for the price paid. I hope this feedback can assist in addressing the mentioned issues and improving the quality of services provided to future guests.

I am a solo and female traveller, booked for my consulate work. very value for money. This hotel is very close to the US Consulate and Biometric. The rooms are neat clean and the staff were very friendly. Morning breakfast is fine and nearby shopping centres are available.will refer my friends and Colleagues to stay here for future travel. safe hotel, friendly staff and good room and Bathroom.

They provide outstanding service and rooms are also well maintained and cleaned too. Food items are also good..

It is the best and low priced restaurants in chennai. Especially who are planning to stay for visa interview and biometric, I strongly recommend you to stay here as it is nearby to both the places. Be aware most of the hotels around here charge huge price for staying per night.

Its a budget friendly hotel near to us and singapore consulates. Food is also hygiene and tasty. The hospitality of the hotel staff is quite impressive.

I have my reason,why I'm not rating this hotel. I had worst experience on this hotel with my friends and family during our visit. Took 4 1. Unhygienic toilet. 2. Cockroach in rooms 3. Bar near so unsafe during night to go out. 4. Worst room service.. 5. Rate compare to other hotels High
