It is also known as Company bagh library. Situated in the middle of Company garden now known as Chandrashekhar Ajad park. Most newspapers and periodicals are available here. Area is lush green and peaceful. This is built under the British rule. The architecture is also inspired by western design of buildings.

Within its walls, the Rajkeeya (Government) Public Library boasts a vast collection of literary treasures, including books, magazines, newspapers, gazettes, and various reading materials in multiple languages such as Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Bangla, and French. Among its notable holdings are works like the Majma-ul-Bahrain, the Shahnama of Firdausi, Jyotish-shastra, and Ganesh Puran.

This is public library so this is open for all. There is very beautiful garden as well in the same premises which is good to walk of you are getting bored after reading. It represents structural polychromy with lofty towers and arcaded cloisters.[4][6][7] When completed in 1870, the building cost approx. INR 94,222.[8] It was funded by Commissioner of Allahabad, Mr. Mayne and was opened as a memorial to Cuthbert Bensley Thornhill.[9]

It's made during English ruled India. But now the building as it is. It's building structure is very attractive and nice.

It is a place at which u can study silent. There is a small amount which is paid by everyone 50rs /year. At here there are thousand of books from ancient India to modern from different writter in different field . U can become a member and enjoy the books.

Here you can get free entry from 9 am to 5 pm, here you can get books but they are very old but you can get free daily English newspaper. This place is surrounded by company garden park....
