This is the ferry ghat by the river Ganges which is connected by the Chakdaha station by toto at a distance of 3.5 km to reach Mahanagar Ghat at the opposite bank. One can enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Ganges from the bank where nature has its own story to tell. The bank is well beautified with the trees and boulders which make it look beggar's description. During the afternoon and early morning, walking down the bank has a different experience. However, there are very poor facilities of food and other stuff near the ferry ghat and the road leading to the ghat from the station is pathetic which needs to be improved by the Panchayat at the earliest. There is an eco resort called Mallikaban near to this ghat which is a good destination to spend a day during the winter. Apart from the regular ferry service, one can hire boats also from here to have a river trip personally.
The place is very beautiful....the Gournagar ghat is Hoogghly river.....it is a ferry ghat.....from the Chakdaha station,you can reach here to ride the toto....the toto charge is Rs.20 per head....nature scenery is very good.....the atmosphere is very good....the view of sunset and sunrise is looking awesome....the experience of ferry ride is very good.....the charge of ferry is not too high....you can ride ferry with reasonable price.....many times I and my friends have come here.....the place is really good.... everyone should come to this place @Gournagar ferry ghat
Nice place to spend some time..
One my favourite places, where I've spent a lot of time just staring at the moving waves, shy ripple, the fine horizon and sunset. The serenity and calmness of this place lets you to heal all the clutters inside you. Vast green fields and howling wolves after the sun are there to welcome you. The cool breeze has the power to hypnotize. Don't forget tp enjoy the falling evening with 'chai'.
