To effectively and efficiently impart fundamental, appropriate and socio-economically relevant knowledge at the tertiary level of education to those seeking depth of understanding and employment - driven technical competence in their chosen areas of study. The university provides higher education in the state of Goa and is situated on the Taleigao plateau and is one of India's few universities offering western languages such as Portuguese and French languages. The university has on its campus, 1 Centre, 20 Departments and 3 schools that target the fields of Arts, Science and Commerce. Over the past 35 years, the University has steadily expanded its reach, both in terms of the number of affiliated colleges - professional and general education numbering to 56, as well as the diversity of courses offered. These colleges offer various courses leading to a degree at graduate, post-graduate level. 12 of them are also recognized as research centres to offer Ph.D. programmes. In addition, 8 recognized institutions in various disciplines situated in the state of Goa are also recognized for research programmes leading to Ph.D. degree by the University.
Lot of space is wasted for no reason. The main campus is located far from the library which makes it difficult for students to travel
Worst university, lazy academic staff. People of university don't value talent, they don't have work ethics. They don't have simple instrument properly working. Being a single university in Goa it's requires lot to improve to be good.
