Located in a scenic environment , Rooms stunning, mountain views, pretty clean and tidy as well. But because of the location, it's hard to find a transportation you'll have to walk 10-15 minutes to the main market.
Disappointed because even though we shared the same room, we were charged extra 500, because one of our friend arrived late. We understand that we had to buy food, and cook it ourselves, but paying for things like oil, which was already there, we used it one time but they charged us alot for all that, so it was kinda disappointing.
Tucked away amidst the mountains, with peace and a whole lot of calm. I happened to book it 3 hours before reaching Aizawl, and they were kind enough to accomodate me in the cottage, when I had booked a single room. Just walking into the place, I knew I found the perfect home. Silent, clean and lot of plants, a very natural and beautiful setting. Of all places I have been to, this is the best homestay I've been at. The host helped me with arranging taxis to go around and ensured it was all smooth. Oh and their pets, they are too adorable and lovely. Had the best time in there. This family and place will make you feel at home. And as a solo traveller, it struck the right chords. Loved and enjoyed every moment I spent here.
If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is where you need to be at, the Giftland Homestay. True to its name.
Tucked away in a dead-end along a winding road is a quaint, beautiful family run homestay called Giftland. The homestay is perched with majestic vistas on either side. The entrance welcomes you with an arch of trumpet vines that give off a beautiful light perfume. As you enter, you see the artistic and creative touches of our host Zorin, an educator, lover of nature, experienced guide and wise woman. Her family, including 3 lovable 4 legged variety, run this tastefully decorated and managed homestay. Excellently curated plants, tumbling down rooftops, hanging from pots leading you to a cottage where I stayed with my family. Clean, neat, precise, with a kitchen and excellent bathroom, the cottage overlooked the garden that was filled with abundance of vegetables and flowers and trees, even an avocado tree. There is filtered water for drinking and a shelf in the family refrigerator for guests.
The location of the homestay is unique as everywhere you look, you can see the high hills surrounding you. The wind sweeps you almost off your feet bringing with it the sweet tumbling smell of fragrant flowers.
Zorin and her family were wonderful. Helped us with information and transportation. They welcomed us so warmly into their homes and helped us find our way around. We even got a parting gift of fresh squash off the vine.
All in all, a great package for Those looking for serenity amidst beauty.
Amazing rooms. Its not just rooms but a complete apartment with kitchen and balconies. The family run homestay should be your go to place in Aizawl. Its not in the main town so its as peaceful as it can be. They have a superb kitchen garden with variety of fruits and vegetables (that they will use to cook you lip smacking food).
Amazingly clean and well maintained place.
They have three cutest dogs who will welcome you as soon as you enter.
It is a must visit place with super friendly hosts.
