Ghodbunder Fort - Fortress in Mira Bhayandar - Thane, India

Visiting the place for the first time, we didn't know how to reach there. We took a bus to Thane from Bhayandar west. We asked the conductor the best way to reach the firt. After calculating or visualing the path in his mind, he suggested we get down at Silver Garden bus stop and catch bus number 22 to take us to the fort. So, if you are going by bus, you need to catch bus number 22 from Silver Garden Bus Stop at Mira Road. But then the bus will leave you at the fort bus stop. From there you will have to take a walk towards the fort. The path is up and down so you may find it difficult to walk up and then return to the bus stop. It's better if you have your own vehicle or hire an auto to take you to the fort and back to the main city. Ghodbundar fort is as of now a secluded fort area. When we visited renovation was going on. They are trying to recreate the original fort. It's not a big fort and you can cover it in less than 20 minutes. Maybe when it is restored there might be more areas to explore in the fort. The view of the city from the top is really awesome. The top of the fort reveals the panaromic view of the city. It's a treat to the eyes.

The place has a great view of the Bhayandar creek and the city skyline. Quiet little secluded place. Can be a good place for photography.

Excellent fort it is.Historic place everyone must visit,but now it is under construction,MLA Pratap Sarnaik is doing a very good job.

A lot of repair work is going on. Visited in the evening so it was not crowded at all. If you want to spend time alone, you can definitely go. The rest is a very beautiful historical place.

Amazing experience. Renovation taken place maintaining structural designs in its original shape. Very neat and clean and a must visit fort nearest to Mumbai and Thane. This is the first fort hosting 100ft flag of Swarajya. Car Parking space is limited.

The place is beautiful. It's currently under renovation but part of the fort is still accessible. The view from the top is breathtaking. I just hope that they maintain cleanliness around the place, as people stay around the fort there. Also, there are no food places nearby so make sure to fill your tummy beforehand.

Under construction fort as of now, views are amazing, sunset and sunrise both can be viewed. Roads that lead to this fort are narrow. Its allowed to enter the fort despite of boards of no entry on the entrance, but if curator is there then he wont allow you to go inside. A ride on cycle to this fort is worthy!
