Frank Lobo's - Goan restaurant in Calangute, Baga - North Goa, India

Strict No for Indians, I stayed for two nights with family as it was near to beach and we didnt had much time to look for another place. Pro: Budget friendly rooms , Its not beach facing, but it is near to beach cons: No toiletries in bathrooms, No towels, No drinking water, Even no glass for drinking water. Iron Beds , Rooms were big but no adequate lightning. There is a shortcut to reach the beach 100mts, which is easily accessible during day time, night time there is no street light to use that shortcut route. all these are fine, as we were ok with all these , but the last day morning, i ordered two ginger tea at their resturtant. The owner was serving food to foreign guest herself. She yelled at me when i enquired about my order as my order value was less and then she called me to pick coffee and rudely said " Please bring cups back to resturant, we will not collect from room" and I don't want the matter to escalate more i left. Since i ordered tea and i took it , paid and went to room. what i observed she is interested more in foreign guests then Indian guests. I agree she might had some prior bad experience but this place is strict no for any Indians. Views are personal and can't be generalised.

Wow! We were told by a couple about this place while we were down in south goa so thought we would give it a try whilst in candollim. Rather difficult to find so google map got us there. Didn't think we would be having steak in India let alone chateaubriand! 1200 rupees! We had very low expectations but it was beautiful. Little well cooked for me as husband likes 'well done' so would definitely go for rarer but the taste was perfect. So much food our tummies were groaning ! Highly recommend and may be back before leaving.

Really good place to hangout... Nice juicy steaks and steak burgers and the owner are really sweet people...

Very good food, Chateaubriand was very good. Service very good but a very quiet two nights owed to the fact that there are few British holiday makers here and will be very quiet until after the new year.

Rooms are spacious and clean. The view is not great out of the rooms. Overall developed in a very organic manner. The garden in the restaurant was quite an attraction earlier which now has been partially demolished due to the expansion work. But I would say it's still a best place one can get so near the Baga beach at very affordable rates.

I stayed one day and then moved to different lodge because I was not happy in this lodge.There is no towels and soap in my room. Host (she) refused to provide me towels because of covid. There is no cup or a glass tumbler for drinking water. Host refused to provide me a cup because I booked the room through makemy trip and she explained that she can't make enough money so I don't get a cup. She gave a cup after I explained that I paid Rs 1450 for that room. No soap dish holder in the bathroom, bathroom is a very small. There is no ventillation in this room and slept only 3 to 4 hours, No small table or a dining table, Room is very small with a big fridge and a very big bureau. No phone in my room. There is no resturant in this lodge. No WIFI in my room because my room is a standard room. Host asked me to come to lobby to use WIFI. Lots of mosquitos in that lobby and there is no way we can sit and relax. There is no check in and check out procedure maintain in this hotel. Host doesnot know the importance of registration.

This place is a little Gem, fabulous rooms fantastic tasty food and the most friendly polite staff. Seema the lady owner is a lovely lady and very accommodating, we just love this place the food and staff and is a define for our stay again next year. Defiantly 5* all round. Close to the beach and other restaurants shops and bars. Perfect quiet spot

Awesome welcome. Great place to enjoy with reasonable price. Good view and its back side of baga beach. Lovely place and can stay without any disturbances. House keeping is very nice.
