ECR Cafe - Veg Restaurant - Indian restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

My first experience in this veg restaurant is not upto the mark. We tried common idly and dosa but idly is not at all good this day (15th sep 2023) and dosa is ok ok. I gave this rating based out of my first experience and would like to try different items and meals option. Later will update this review with more details . Parking : good car parking and bike you can park any where easily Cost we spent for these two items for 4 people : 226/- Ambience: Good Service : Good

We had poori masala, masala dosa and filter coffee. All were good. Coffee was too good. Nice place in ECR for a road trip break. Flies all over, which needs attention. Price was very nominal. Good thing is they open very early and close late.

Food is good, but everything else is bad here. Service is the worst and atmosphere also not nearly maintained. Ordered coffee and there was mayiru (hair) in it

The ambience is too good. Outdoor seating is available, its too Breezy in the morning. Taste is good, above average. Clean and descent washroom and wash area. Descent veg options available, nothing special. Rate are little high, 350 for 2 persons is not so perfect. They cost much as there is demand, thats what i feel.

If I could give negative stars to this restaurant I would have give one. We came for lunch on a Sunday. Waited for 20 mins and no one came to take orders. And finally me managed to Marshall the attention of the restaurant manager and one rude guy came and said meals not available. And finally we ordered porotta set which came after may be 15-20 mins and it was a disaster. The hygiene factor is another disaster. It seems they are expert breeders of flies. The place was filled with them. Washroom was another catastrophe. Overall a big regret. Never ever to come to this place.

When driving down the ECR or heading towards Pondy, you think you need to stop at Breakfast place that is known. But this place came right next to the tradition Nilgiris we stop at for roadtrip supplies. Ample car parking, clean and simple ambience was welcoming. Courteous staff and respond quickly. What we ordered was really good and satisfying - Idli Vada, Mini Tiffen (pic attached) and Podi Uthappam.

I recently dined at the vegetarian restaurant with my family, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the experience. The taste of the food was rather average, which was a letdown considering it's a vegetarian establishment. The serving bowls seemed unhygienic, and the overall ambience left much to be desired. To make matters worse, I encountered a broken toilet seat in the restroom and a filthy handwash area. I hope the restaurant can address these issues to improve the dining experience for future customers.

It's a good place but it's not properly maintained. While having lunch there were flies over there. Food has taste. We had meals which cost 126 rs and it's limited ( they charge extra for rice, curry is unlimited)
