At a distance of 1.5 km from Diu Bus Station, Diu Museum is a prominent museum located in Diu. Situated near St. Paul's Church, it is one of the museums in the Union Territory of Diu - Daman and among the must-visit places in Diu town. The museum was set up in the St. Thomas Church, hence it is called as St. Thomas Church Museum. The church was built in 1598 by an order of Bishop D. Aleixo Menezes and was the first Parish Church of Diu. Lies on an elevated platform within the Diu Fort, the church was built in the Gothic style of architecture. This edifice came under various functions like an Orphanage, Old Age Home, Police Station and prior to liberation, it housed the Angolan Battalion. Post-liberation, it was abandoned for many years. Later in 1992, the church was converted into a museum. After the conversion of the building to the museum, the church does not organize prayer services anymore, although an annual mass is held on All Saint's Day on 1st November. St. Thomas Museum houses numerous stone inscriptions of ancient rulers, antique statues, multi-colored fountains, wood carvings and idols, shadow-clocks and various other vital artifacts, all of which give us a peek into the history of Diu and its past when it was colonized by the Portuguese. This museum also features 400 years old wooden and marble statues of St. Thomas and St. Benedict. It is an archaeological treasure house.

The old St. Thomas Church has been converted into a museum which houses antique statues, various stone inscriptions of the earlier rulers, wooden carvings and idols, in evening, multicolored fountains and special lighting of the imposing building fascinate everyone. A huge edifice in gothic architecture was built in 1598. A part of it has been converted into a museum - an archaeological treasure house.

This seems old place. This place has collections of around 25-30 wooden statues with just name of their for information. The park outside it has different sculptures. You will get nice backgrounds for your pictures. Just to point out, if you are travelling from diu fort, it is next to st. Paul's church.

Its a museum contains with old monument and old pop and father's statute.. its free museum so small but and so old , but worth to watch its near st. Poul church ,, outside a good park for children,,, overall its a worth to visit if you are diu for a Day and its take no time ...

The Church which has antique statues, various stone inscriptions of the earlier rulers, very old collection of wooden carving of all famous catholic saints going back to the 16th Century. Once a year, on All Saints Day, it is used for Mass. But, It's very sad to see how poorly the church is maintained, it could be a place to learn much about the church and history of the island.

This museum is based on Christian Religion. Here so many statues of different priests of great churches all over the world is present. Statues of all time great father/priests who expanded the Christian religion and taught the base/knowledge of Christianity to the people's around the world. Also some artefacts or archeological excavations related to Christians are kept here.

A historical monument! Saint Thomas Church turned Diu Museum is one of the historical monument in Diu as an important symbol of erstwhile Portuguese rule. The church consists of wooden sculptures believed to be of sixteenth century AD during the Portuguese reign. Though the museum is small, but it demonstrates the sculptural marvel of the erstwhile era.
