Dhanalakshmi - Indoor lodging in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

..They shifted to another room as the light in bathroom was not operational and I had to spent one night with that out of my booked 2 nights. Staff were very cordial except the manager, observed many times interacting very rudely with the customers. Beds were of low quality and they said TV not for Non-AC rooms even though it was present in the room. Food generally rich with oil. With same price tag one can get better and AC rooms in that Aberdeen Bazar area. Definitely not like to recommend to any kind of travelers.

This was my second stay. This time Manager was good and co-operative. Bed linen was not up to the mark. Service by staff was very good. Food quality has changed a bit more better. Amenities like charging points, locker & cupboards needs to be improvised. Over all good as far as location is concerned for those willing to stay near by main market and heart of the city.

The manager is rude and loud and doesn't want to help the customer solve their problems. The AC remotes were not working properly.We didn't get any water for a complete day in port Blair ,not even in the toilet. AC is old and that is his reason for the room being hot even while running the AC. There is no constraint on timings to enter the hotel.They also have a luggage room in case you want to leave the luggage and go somewhere.The bedcover and towels were clean .Bed, sofa were comfortable.TV doesnt work.

Worst experience ever.. 1. Room was not clean at all. 2. Bathroom was smelling a lot. No water was there in bathroom tap 3. I asked 4 times for drinking water but no one cared for this. At last myself went to the canteen and brought water jog for me. 4. After my argument then only they cleaned my room. Very poor service and the manager was so rude.. I would not recommend any one to stay here.

Worthy of just one star because of the glaring mismatch between the prices its rooms command and the comfort and convenience they offer to their guests. 1)The washroom is without a toilet tap. 2)There are cockroaches over the mirror. 3)The cupboard was dilapidated. 4) The bed was nothing but an assemblage of wooden logs that would shift here and there. That's the kind of facilities they gave us for Rs1300/- per night. Not at all recommended.

The hotel was good. The staff was nice. The location is at walkable distance from cellular jail. The food was good. The hotel is in the main market and near to most tourist spots. It is a good budget hotel for a nice stay at Port Blair.

We six old people recently visited Port Blair and stayed for 5 days in Dhanalakshmi. Its location is very good, close to market and eating places. The staff was very nice and courteous. I will recommend it for its location, ease of search of autos and taxies, comfort comparable with the cost.

As mentioned in every review. receptionist person was such hard person. may be he should have been in to military service. He was not allowed me without providing Printout of the Receipt. I showed Goibibo sms and Invoice but still he wanted Printout. taking print out is not a easy job in Portblair. I booked for two days. Vacated room by first day itself because of the quality of the rooms. lost 1550Rs. Horrible experience.
