Deki Lodge - Hotel in Kalimpong - Kalimpong, India

Good service by the staff, they were extremely helpful and friendly. And the rooms were fairly furnished as well as clean. It is pretty close to the bus stand but still is very peaceful. Deki has an overall homely feel to it. Will definitely stay there whenever we visit next

Nice peaceful location, though quite near the city center its very quite. Run by a family who are very hospitable. The rooms are clean, however, upper rooms have a much better view. The only blemish is the lack of man-power running the place, due to which there are limited food options and housekeeping services. But its a value for money for small families, couples and backpackers.

Deki Lodge used to be a favorite haunt for foreign travelers back when Kalimpong was still a sleepy hill-town. Today, it's not the most preferred place of accommodation due to its distance from the city center. However, it is still worth the walk up the hill. It's location on the 10th Mile Road places you on the routes to Dello, Tharpa Choling Monastery, and Sakhya Monastery, to name a few. Kamaal, the person in-charge of Deki Lodge, is a friendly gentleman of few words. However, he is more than willing to share his local knowledge when asked. I did not have any food or drink at the lodge. So I can't comment on it. By way of amenities, the room had a small-screen TV, an attached bathroom with a working geyser. I would also mention a very well-kept garden inside the premises. In terms of cleanliness, it is as clean as an old bungalow-turned-homestay can get - don't expect the tidy sparkle of a hotel. Conclusion: A quiet and friendly lodge away from the bustle of the town - I highly recommend it for budget travelers who don't mind walking... and having dogs in the house.

Nice stay at deki lodge. Little bit costlier, but ok. Feels like home. Clean room n bathroom. Awesome view from the upper room. Good food served here, very familiar behavior of the manager. Also it is situated in the center of Kalimpong near market n taxi stand. So if you want to stay in Kalimpong as your home stay you can visit here.

It's a nice little spot in a good location, a bit removed from the noise of the main road. It's clean and well kept, and the family running it is kind. Rooms are a bit expensive for what you get, though (850 for their most basic double with bucket shower and Indian toilet). Wifi disconnects every five minutes, but works well when it is up.

very good very very good hotel for staying. Manager Kamal babu is a gentleman. The price of the hotel I stayed is so lower than the actual price of hotel room. Location is not proper on market but 1-2 km from bazar but doesn't matter for quality of hotel.

One of the best hotels to stay. Mr. Bhutia and Mr. Kamal are soo friendly. They'll give their best all the time. They are very good humans perhaps I was still wondering if such people even exist these days! One of the best places to stay!

I was welcomed with open arms as I'd sheepishly ventured up their stairs in wonder of the garden that I could merely see the top of from the street below. In search for breakfast, I thought "why not ask", and so I did and moments later found myself on a beautiful sunlit terrace waiting eggs, toast and coffee. Lovely morning, indeed.
