Good place for one time visit. U can spot some deers, sambar, bison, peacocks. It's a quiet place, no honking & the gate closes around 6pm. So if ur planning to stay in nature camp, then u have to reach before 6pm. Jungle Safari was about 2 hrs long. Btw they did talked about bears, jackal, wolf, hyenas but I doubt about their existence coz we were doing open safari & for this animals the safari should always be closed ones.
A great place to visit with friends and family. A true picture of nature can be found here.

The sanctuary is fringed on the east and north by the huge man-made water body of Hirakud reservoir, thus forming one of the select few sanctuaries in the state supporting both terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity; which further attracts a significant number of migratory waterfowl during winter; and also this Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 250 plant species, many of which have ethno-botanical and medicinal value;

Debrigarh wild life sanctuary is located on the bank of hirakund reservoir 40 km away oposit to hirakund dam. there are 5 cottages by forest dept with a beautiful dining area with warm hospitality by the all staff.we reached there on 31st Dec morning, and spend a wonderful time till 2nd Jan morning. the rooms are big, clean and specious.foods are simple but fresh and testy which is included in the room rent(4500/per couple). the only negative point is there is no arrangement of vehicle for jungle safari, you have to arrange your own vehicle for reaching there and safari.forest dept. is planning to arrange in future as per DFO who is on visit that day in the sanctuary.we appreciate his concern about our stay there and provides guide for safari & nice jungle walk about 4 km. we have spotted dear, plenty of peacocks, bison's, fox, and many species of birds.
I recommend the real nature lovour must visit the place . for booking you contact forest dept website of orissa govt.
