A great place to stay, cosy and comfortable. Also you'll get the most amazing hosts catering to all your needs. Quite a peaceful destination to spend a week. Wooden floors. Bathtubs. Fireplaces. And great scenery from the windows. Although a bit far from the city centre ( at Police Bazaar ), Taxis are available to take you there. Definitely a place to enjoy nature and listen to chirping birds in the early morning. :)
We Stayed for four nights. Had amazing experience. We were treated like special Guest. Owner specially was humble and helpful. Manager Shawn too was very helpful from providing his bike for a city ride to arranging Cab at a reasonable price. House keeping staff need a special mention too for their unbelievable cleanliness and helping us in every way possible. Burnt my mouth when I tried to taste local beetle leaves and staff provided natural remedy and relived my pain. We would recommend Cleveland Homestay to everyone for a peaceful and memorable holiday.
I stayed in the King's Room, and had a lovely 3 day stay. With beautiful surroundings in Shillong and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the best escape into the cooler mountains from the city. A bit away into the quieter surroundings, but only a 10/- rupees ride into the city, this place will give you the fresh air and the sound of bird chirps in the early morning. The hosts are splendid, and with complementary breakfast of bacon and sausages in the morning, this is also a foodies paradise. Rates are reasonable. Very clean and tidy. Worth staying. :)
Clevland Homestay is a beautifully historic home with modern amenities and very clean. It was very peaceful, as the house is little away from the busy street. Host Shanbor is very welcoming and a great person. Shanbor gave a great surprise to my parents on their wedding anniversary. Sandra made sure of the food preferences of everyone in our group. Overall a great place to be at and will definitely plan a longer stay next time.
I don't usually give reviews online but felt obligated to do this because of the host Shanbor.We were a family of 15 and everybody just loved this place. This is a beautiful and clean homestay and what makes it even better is the host Shanbor and his very helpful staff. He has taken hospitality to the next level which I believe is very difficult to match.
It felt like home. Right in the heart of Shillong,with very easy accessibility to main spots.Ambience is good, breakfast with limited options-but homely and delicious. The telling point is the staff- were very helpful, soft spoken and honest.Can go for it without any hesitation, you will never get disappointed.
The moment we drove inside the property we all said wow. When we were guided to our room, more surprises were in store for us, the King room the largest room in the property was allotted to us an it an extra large room with a balcony, extra bed, large bathroom and a nice seat out area inside the room. The best part were the hosts. Mr. Shanbor went extra mile to book us a table for the new year's eve and ensured our 14 year old child is allowed in the club. He and his wife Christine took care of every guests asking them about their stay, just to make it feel at home. Neil is a superman, he manages the property and you think of anything you need, he will arrange, there's no limit, you can ask anything you need. The girls need to be mentioned as well led by Kongrit, they are super efficient and well trained, always served us with a smile. They made us hot breakfast every day, to make us feel at home they even made Alu Paratha one day, every day the breakfast was different. The best ever sausages we had ever had in our life, i guess it was home made. The location is great, not too far from he city centre and also not in the middle of the rush. One can take a nice walk in the morning to the Cathedral and also towards thew Tripura Castle road. Highly recommended for people considering to visit Shillong. We stayed 5 nights and it was one of our most memorable holidays.
I regret having curtailed my stay at Cleveland for want of more time in and around Cherrapunjee. The service is excellent, the hosts are a class apart and the facility itsef is marvellous. I would highly recommend staying at this place if one is visiting Shillong.
