It's an unexpected and a wonderful visit to the spice garden.Had'nt we been there,we would have missed a lot. The explanation is crystal clear and the way they treat the guests is excellent. Came to know about different spices, trees, plants and what not! a lot... Finally went to their spice shop and their spices are of excellent quality. Its worth spending time and buying spices people might find it costly but felt worth it.
So it was around 1 hour session. and we got to know about each and every plant/herb/flower there in the farm. The guide is super friendly and is very well comfortable with Hindi and English. Got to know about different coffees, cocoa, various spices, trees n herbs and about some wonderful flowers. It was actually us who were in a bit hurry else he has all the time to guide you and help with your questions about various stuff. At the end of the session he took us to their shop where multiple items are on sale. They didn't pressurize even once to buy anything, still we got some stuff for us. The guide also clicked some pictures of us. All in all, a great experience. Must visit when you are in Munnar. Ticket: 150 INR (totally worth it)
Visited the place early in the morning, around 50 different spice plants were shown during the visit, the explanation by the staff was very good, and made me realise the different forms of plants used for different purposes. A must visit in munnar. It was very informative, botany enthusiasts will surely enjoy! One of my suggestions would be to provide the tourists with the catalogue of all the plants cultivated in the garden, so that it will be easier to remember. My favourite plant was yesterday, today, tomorrow plant ( brunfelcia pauciflora).
It was wonderful to be here, saw many species we never saw how's its grown that we use on daily basis. I would say there were many spice gardens in Munnar but this we found in internet to be having good reviews, I think It was worth. Also were optimistic regarding the products that are shown after tour, we brought shampoos, spices etc but after reaching home we found they were actually very effective compared to market place. Would like to order a few items again. Thanks to Cinnamon garden team and also the Uncle who accompanied us during the tour!
All the reviews are indeed justified. Our guide Mr. Sumesh was very polite and shared the information in proper manner without hurrying at any plant. After the tour, he explained various ayurvedic products and spices at their sales outlet. Nowhere did he 'force' me to purchase. By the way, entry fees is Rs. 150 per head, which includes the guide as well.
Nice experience of seeing spices and medicinal plants and trees. All the spices shown while walk were of good quality. Guide was also very considerate of us being not aware of local language so he was telling us everything in English as well.
A must visit place in Munnar Good atmosphere Friendly staffs.. For each group..one staff will accompany us and guide throughout the plantation, describes the specialities and medicinal importance of each plants as well as trees. They produce many medicinal oils and we can buy their products from there itself. Toilet facilities are available. Ticket rate 150 /person.
I loved the excursion. It was absolutely worth 150 rupees per person. The owner let us through the garden with a large variety of interesting plants, explained about each of them, even gave us a piece to taste from each and answered all the questions we had! We got to know how these plants grow: pepper, figs, coffee, cocoa, green and black cardamom, allspice leaves, curry leaves, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, sandalwood, and a lot more.
