Very good place. The view of holy river Ganga is amazing. But need some basic amenities like clean washroom, drinking water and some food options. History of this fort should be displayed clearly.

Awesome place to visit. Have a Lot of historical importance. Nice pal e to visit and perfectly worth the time and visit. Not only that it takes only 1 hour to completely explore the place . Do add it on your list when visiting Varanasi.

The fort is located on the brink of river Ganges. Compared to other forts, this is quite small as entry for the general public is quite restricted. Inspite of that, the parts that are open has a great view, you will definitely love watching them. Panoramic view of Ganga is quite magnificent. There is no ticket needed to visit this place. Moreover accessible with cars and bikes too as well as parking is also available at the top. The fort is safe as police station is situated on the fort only. This place is quite famous among lovebirds. Go and visit for the serene view and peace from the noise around the city. Not much to see since most of the fort is locked and prohibited to enter for tourists. It is believed that most of the parts of fort approx 80-90% are underground, a lots of tunnels in and around the fort are evident of the fact. This fort was built by Raja Vikramaditya from Ujjain in 56BC and houses the Samadhi of his elder brother. It has been since captured by multiple rajas from Prithviraj Chauhan, to Mughal emperors like Akbar. The fort has different structures like a jail, VIP jail, Kal kothri, swayamvar sabha and Shershah Suri's Darbar. Hope you found my review helpful Drop a like if you found it worthy Thank you

The place though is located in a hilly area and has historical importance did not reach my expectations, the reason being that most of the fort is prohibited for visitors. We spent an entire day as we were excited about visiting the fort when we travelled to Varanasi but it was definitely not worth it.

Beautiful landscapes with the beauty of monuments and the holy Ganges , the fort is really interesting and it's having amazing stories with itself . The maintenance is quite good but the tourist should also take care of it by keeping it clean and tidy , the fort plays a very important geographical turn also because of it the Ganges direction changes and it flows towards Varanasi if the fort was absent then the flow of Ganges were in different direction. It also has a very historical importance in it with the Britishers also who ruled here and make this fort as armour house . In the view of safety it must be really very safe in the previous times . Now , Here the people are very annoying and disrespectful also , they even tease the tourist , so because of that the safety measures must be upgraded. By the way it's very good place to hangout and mind soothing .

No tickets required to enter this fort. But there isn't much to see from the inside but it looks really beautiful from the outside.

Should visit after it ends as a museum because only a small section of the fort is accessible to public other major part is acquired by police training centre

It's an old fort , good place , but as it's a police training camp , thus the maximum part of the fort is occupied by military and polices . Guides are too much expensive ,they takes around Rs200 which is too much expensive as compared to the very limited visiting site . Otherwise the place is good . Totally ticket free , it has great history . Guides are good but expensive . They are also talking that the place will be completely open for public after 3 to 4 years .
