The main cave part was so disappointing nothing much to see here. The so called old stone age painting are mostly wahed off or disturbed, remaining drawings are protected by iron net. Early morning visit can be bliss but the site opens at 8am as per the timing written there. Waited till 8:30am but no care taker arrived to open the gate and let us pass through, upon enquiring a villager passerby he asked to just go in the premises. The best part here is the sunrise that you can witness from the Gondli reservoirshore and it mesmerising reflection in the water with early morning migratory bird flocks adding more to the beauty. Road is being constructed to the venue but the villagers are kind enough to help you reach here and the sign boards were also helpful. Early morning visit is suggested. Remote location bring your own food and water to be on the safe side.
Although my ignorant mind couldn't pick up those supposedly prehistoric rock paintings at Chitwa Dongari Cave, 360 degrees vista from its top presenting a perfect blend of green, blue & brown elements below, was definitely the trophy!
Chitwa Dongri Caves - On Balod-Dallirajhara roads, 120 km from Raipur (Capital city of Chhattisgarh, India) there is a natural cave named "Chitwa Dongri Caves" Surrounded by beautiful Gondli reservoir. We can find some proof of pre historic paintings as well. It's s small highland which surrounded by Forest and Rocks. There is one wooden ladder through which you can reach at the top of cave and the view of complete Gondali reservoir is really magnificent from there.
If you are a lover of natural things then you will definitely like this place. And yes this place is also very good for picnics with friends and family.

You should be very careful.. As there are big rocks of 8 to 20 feets almost.. So be careful.. Especially take care of kids.. Its advisable to not go on top of cave..

Beautiful place to visit. It's have a ancient cave. With mountain view at top.
It has a lake with beautiful ground to run and picnic.
