The place offers you history and a spectacular view..many of the monuments are left are remains of the war.
There are temples and monuments like the victory tower here.
It's better to have a guided visit .You can negotiate the prize too if they are locals.
Overall I loved the place.
It's a beautiful fort. As usual destroyed by the Mughals. It's now a world heritage site. The Rajasthan Govt should free it from all encroachments and develop it. Requires a lot of restoration work. The sound and light show is worth a visit though much improvement is required.
A great place to explore history of Rajasthan. Magnificent view from top with ancient architecture and walls. Light and sound show in evening is must watch. You will be seeing great architecture of temples inside. Fort is very well preserved and still in a good condition to explore. Highly recommend to hire a guide to understand the history. Must visit if you go to Chittorgarh
Best place to visit only on non holiday.... To take full enjoyment... some rush on weekends and holidays.... Best stay for one day and night
Historic fort - showcasing Rajputana pride, valour and also Meera bai' devotion. A must place to visit - keep adequate time. If you have your own vehicle please take it. It will be easier. You may exclude the light and sound show.
Its just gives you goosebumps to be there..so much history. If you want to soak in the place peacefully go on a weekday at sunrise. It's quite and you can spend the time you want. One big issue is the trash and plastic people have thrown everywhere. It's sad to see. Administration needs to control the sale of food items within the fort and have a drive to make sure people don't litter.
Excellent place. Good Vibes. You should get a guide for this because unless you know the history of this place, you will not understand the importance of this fort. You can get a guide between 200-800 rs. You don't have to walk around as much as the car is going on at all points.
