I feel very grateful for my experience learning and growing at Chinmay. I joined the 200hr yttc in May and I must say this location is so lovely this time of year. The school is tucked away near Bhagsu waterfall away from the main street, and it was a treat learn and live in this environment. I also felt very safe here as a small female. The family and staff are warm and kind and made me feel cared for. The highlight for me was the teachers, each bringing a unique perspective and energy at a top-notch level. They truly took into consideration each student's unique needs and created a safe and positive environment for us. Their intentions were pure and it was apparent that our success was so important to everyone involved. I think the schedule is structured effectively, especially considering the intensive nature of courses like this. I think it's important to be committed before jumping in. Lastly, the food is always delicious, abundant and made with love.

Chinmay Yoga is a piece of paradise ! Let me tell you why : 1. The school is located in a very chill and peaceful town in the mountains, a perfect location. You will practice yoga with the best view ever. 2. The team behind this yoga school are the most kind, flexible and helpful people ever. They will make you feel immediately at home. 3. This is the best price - quality training you will find. Chinmay yoga was the cheapest training I found on the internet so I had very low expectations. However, I was happily surprised by the quality of the training : food is delicious, dormitories are comfortable and spacious, staff is very friendly, location is amazing,... Some teachers were more interesting than others but all in all I learned a lot. 4. Unlike other school I have heard about, this school isn't centered at all on making a huge business out of it but rather in sharing knowledge about wellbeing which is a very humble mission. However, you should come here open-minded, not too strict on expectations but rather eager to be flexible and go with the flow. If you do so, you will find yourself very happy about coming to Chinmay Yoga. I would definitely recommend it to people wanting a yoga training covering basics, surrounded by heart warming people in a very nice environment and for a good price. Thank you Chinmay Yoga !

chose this place, because it was the cheapest one i could find. they are located on the most beautiful place, on a mountain, just a few minutes from the city. but its so peaceful up there, the people are friendly and they know what they are doing. the yoga was so good, i would always fall asleep in shavasana. food was delicoius and nourishing. now after 4 years, i am a yoga teacher in Berlin, thank you for everything!

Completed my 200hrs YTTC here in may. It was one of the most beautiful experiences. Understanding yoga beyond Asanas was the main take for me. The place is located beautifully( just 10 mins walk and you reach Bhagsu waterfall). The people catering us were nice as well great batch mates too. Food here was amazing (I might have gained a pound, so dont overeat :D). As the place is new, so yes, they are improving with every batch they teach. But it would be nice if most of the construction work is done in the breaks between the course. Apart from that, Leaving the place was really difficult for me and I would definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely experience !!

I attended the 200 hour YTT at Chinmay yoga in April and for me this was the best experience I could wish for. As a beginner to yoga, I was a little bit scared about the level of the classes and my competence. However, upon arrival I knew I was very welcome at this place. The teachers encouraged me to practice at my level (emphasizing that asana practice is not a competition), giving adjustments for easier postures. I quickly figured out that whenever I asked for help, both my fellow students (teachers in training!) and the teachers themselves were happy to assist. Chinmay is run by a family that is driven to spread the yoga philosophy (instead of just making money). The facilities at the accommodation are more than comfortable and the food is great. Also the communication before the course started was super clear and fast. All my questions (e.g. about making payment and what to bring) were answered quickly. It's a relatively new school and they are constantly looking for ways to improve! Moreover, the owner is an incredibly warm person that would cook us little snacks, was always up for a chat and even brought us to a wedding of a family member. An experience that made my stay in India completely unforgettable. For me, location played a crucial role in choosing Chinmay yoga. The school is located in a quiet village in the mountains around Dharamshala, home of the Dalai Lama (whose teachings I got to attend during my stay here), which provided a great atmosphere for spiritual practice. Also the place is way less commercialised than other popular YTT locations - Goa and Rishikesh for instance. I would definitely recommend Chinmay to everyone! It's a great school to deepen your knowledge of asanas and yoga philosophy & a place that will feel like home!

All in all I had nice experience in Chinmay (yttc 200 hours, June ) thanks to the amazing group and the gorgeous environment. As i heard the school is about to build clay houses for accomodating which would be an amazingly conscious step, however they've already made steps for a better future: ingredients of the daily meal is mostly local and vegan and there are a lot of plants around the house and its corridors which I appreciate, but anyways nature around is lush and beautiful. The management is friendly as well as most of the teachers. Although their different approach can be confusing sometimes, as it happened with the different sun salutation styles, but with time and a lot of questioning we got to know that basically you can do anything you want, just need to name the styles properly. The course is very short and intense, 3 weeks. If someone is into yoga but doesn't really know the philosophical background, can have a glimpse into yoga world, but if someone is already familiar with it than it might be boring, bc we only learn the basics, which was good for me but not for my friend who knew more already. Anatomy and philosophy classes are just the best, than art of teaching and his asana classes are the most reliable and informative, if you are a fast handwriter you can gain a lot of knowledge there. About the asana practices, we learn hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa and a little bit of yin as an extra. The 3 weeks could be structured better for example starting with the easier styles to get your body fit and stretched than slowly go towards the so called 'injury yoga' (ashtanga). Also sometimes i felt the focus was more on practicing only and not learning about the alignments and precautions for example in the mornings. But we had a collective purification day, which was a very interesting and fun experience and in the exam week it was so nice to give classes to each other. Although i was ashamed of my poor English, there is no need to be afraid of it bc everyone is using light language. So i would recommend the course for beginners, don't expect wonders but a base to start the learning process from. I'm happy with my experience, and the people i met there, Thank all, all the best

I heard about Chinmay through a friend who attended a year previously to me. If you are looking for a Yoga Teacher Training course in Dharamshala, Chinmay should definitely be considered. The staff works very hard to make you feel at home and they give lots of opportunities to teach and align people if you want more practice. Coming from Canada, the yogic food provided was a very big adjustment.. All I could say would be to bring some snacks (not because the food isnt good, its just very different and sometimes you want a bit of home). The location is very good, in the heart of Bhagsu and close to Dharamkot, Triund and a couple waterfalls. The classes were good. The main teacher Santosh is very approachable and all the teachers here have a lot of knowledge. My only real complaint was having punctuality enforced as stated in the rules. Other students would show up 10 mins late and I found it disrupting and would take away from the lesson. Overall, I would recommend Chinmay, I had a very positive experience. Just remember its a teacher training not a resort.

Chinmay Yoga is a pretty good school for yoga! They had been running yoga & meditation drop ins for free for a couple of months of different yoga styles. Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin & Acro. The person running the place is extremely kind & a gem of a person. I found their TTC also to be reasonably priced. Very highly recommended
