It was by far one of the best home stays I ever stayed in. We put up for two nights in October 2019. Location wise, it is not the best because it is on the Southern slope with no view of the Kanchenjunga but the host made up for it. He is an amazing cook and extremely gracious. We had delicious, hot meals through out our stay. We had booked both available rooms. The larger one is very spacious. Both are spotlessly clean. The host is a painter and you can see his work of art and tastefully done interiors throughout the property. It even has a small organic farm attached than you can enjoy. We were all girls in the trip. The place is very safe too. Thank you Rabin for being the amazing person that you were.
Excellent property hosted by an excellent host Mr. Rabin Thapa. He is an artist and lives with his own family. Great food, great atmosphere and beautiful people. If you are visiting Takdah make sure you stay with them!!!
Very cosy and nice homestay with the touch of brilliant creativity of the owner Rabin Thapa, who is a painter and an artist. His own creativity in interior decoration of the rooms is the best thing. The hospitality and the warmth one would get are amazing. Most beautiful and the sweetest thing is that they give you a salutation at the time of leaving. The homestay is situated in the bazaar area of Takdah, which is a bit populated. The food and rooms are really nice and the hosts are amazing.
I've been traveling for more than 6 years and the hospitality at Solacetone was by far the best. The place Takdah has a charm beyond words. We were spellbound right from the moment we entered this place. Our room was clean, very well maintained, and the food touched our soul with every meal. Mr. Robin is a very friendly man and made us feel like family. We stayed for 2 nights and he asked us what would we like to have before every meal which is something we rarely get. The homestay is at a peaceful location, easily accessible (thanks to Mr Robin again for arranging our transportation). Highly recommended.
I and my friends visited this place in january 2020 and i must say the place and the owners are too good. We booked 2 rooms for 6 persons and both rooms was clean and decorated properly. The property is small but the beauty of this homestay is soo calm. At night we literally see clouds moving from side to side of our body's it's too fascinating for us. We literally enjoy there food, it's tooo yummy and fresh foods. Owners are also well mannered and nice. The main plus point of staying at this homestay is there is one tea garden near by 5 to mint of walk. You should visit that garden early in the morning and you'll see such a beauty of a garden in between clouds. I have attached some pics of that tea garden.
Great place. We (Group of 7 friends) went there in the first week of November. Had a amazing stay. Rabin and his family were very co-operative. The main building is more than 100 years old, there is also fireplace attached with the rooms / cottage. So, you can feel the heritage. The place is also very calm and serene and it's much peaceful than the main town of Darjeeling. The view of the hills and the woods from this place is also mesmerizing. They have a garden with beautiful flowers. You can sit back and relax during the morning hours, and enjoy your tea. During the night you can have Bonfire as well as Barbecue(Rabin made all arrangement, during our stay. The Bonfire as well as the Barbecue is a thing to remember, during our stay). Food was amazing and obviously healthy. Rabin and his family made all the arrangement for food and made sure we enjoy it keeping in mind we stay healthy. Last day we were greeted with a stole by Rabin's father. It was very special. The stole was a symbol of respect and well being in life. TRULY HAD AN AMAZING STAY AND A TRIP TO REMEMBER !!
It's as good as a homestay can ever get. You can stay in a cozy artistically designed and decorated ( by the owner who's an artist, do look at the paintings in the house) room surrounded by flowerbeds and greenery with a chimney and clean bathroom. On a clear day the path from here to Darjeeling is itself fabulous. It gets very silent from evening till morning so you can enjoy a relaxing sleep. Above all you are warmly hosted by the owner and his family as if you are their guests. Food is also served if you wish and it's delicious, also it's preferable to eat here because it's a small town so finding good place to eat is difficult and it's always safer eating at home. You can get to know a lot about the flora, fauna and culture while talking to the family. Then a whole day sight seeing is also arranged which is much cheaper than the small 2-3 hr sight seeings in Darjeeling. You would feel the difference. To summarize- Clean, silent, cozy and warmly hosted.
A fabulous stay in mid Nov 2018. Takdah ....The place is awesome... amongst the green , the tea estates and mind blowing nature. Cannot ever forget the hospitality we received staying at this home stay. Rabin ji...... we all are in love with you and your most respected parents. Hardly anywhere we can expect such ambiance and hospitality. Food menu and taste were superb. The rooms are big and spacious.. very neat and well maintained. We had a fantastic experience at your bungalow no. 9. The food was absolutely delicious, and the host nice behavior and hospitality made us feel at home. The location was perfect, offering a peaceful and scenic retreat. Only the car rent was a bit h
