Chaurasi kutiya Beatles Ashram - Featured Reviews (79)
As the name suggests, it is a cluster of eighty-four small caves situated along the banks of the holy Ganges River. These caves hold great historical and spiritual significance, attracting visitors from around the world.
Exploring Chaurasi Kutiyas is like embarking on a journey through time. Each cave has its own story to tell, dating back centuries. According to local legends, these caves were once used by ancient sages and ascetics for meditation and spiritual practices. Walking through the caves, one can't help but feel a sense of awe and reverence for the profound spirituality that permeates the air.
The architecture of the caves is simple yet captivating. Carved out of the rocky cliffs, the caves offer a glimpse into the ancient way of life. Some caves are small and humble, while others are more spacious, accommodating larger groups. It is said that each cave was occupied by a different sage or saint, creating a diverse and vibrant spiritual community.
Further the Beatles Ashram is a treasure trove of history, music, and spiritual exploration. It is a place where artistry, nature, and spirituality converge, offering visitors a chance to delve into the depths of creativity and find solace in the serenity of Rishikesh. Whether you're a Beatles fan, a seeker of inner peace, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of this unique place, the Beatles Ashram is an experience that will leave an indelible mark on your soul.
Grt experience situated near janki bridge rishikesh natural trail path to explore 84 cottages where Rishi munis meditated early ago, there you will see art painting or graffiti done in walls which attracts us, famous band members visited many years ago named Beatles they used to meditate here
Chaurasi kutia is also known as Beatles ashram
Ashram established by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi where 84 kutiyas were used for staying and learning transcendental meditation by many renowned international personalities including Beatles and hence the name Beatles ashram.
To be really honest... This place is not worth going specially on sunny day or summers... There is nothing interesting. Visit only if you want to see some ruins and walls "The Beatles" written on.
Nice place to visit..very peaceful aur beautiful place..can see the view of janki jhula from the top of the ashram.
In the suburban alleys of Rishikesh, there is an erstwhile ashram of late Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi also known as the Beatles Ashram where the Fab-four attended a session of transcendental meditation. It was here that the English rock band composed over 50 songs during their stay in 1968.A trip to Rishikesh wouldn't be complete without a visit to the stunning remains of the mystical Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram; more popularly known as the 'Beatles Ashram' due to their legendary stay here in the late sixties. The now derelict property turned out to be a delightful getaway when I managed to sneak a little break from the packed schedule of the 2017 International Yoga Festival at the nearby Parmarth Niketan ashram.
The Ashram is a comfortable walk if you're coming from Ram Jhula but asking locals for directions to the 'Beatles Ashram' got me nowhere as they call it Chaurasi Kutiya, a reference to the 84 rather unique meditation huts or caves. Just follow the banks of the river till you reach the quaint Last Chance Cafe appropriately named as it's really your last chance for some chow and keep walking for a few hundred meters till you reach the Ashram at your left, at the end of the road. You might spot a friendly bunch of langurs along the way that seem to live nearby.
I like the place alot and also recommend you guys to visit once...
Location:-
The Beatles Ashram is situated to the east of the river Ganges, in the Himalayan foothills, opposite to Muni Ki Reti region of Rishikesh.
Address:-
Swarg Ashram, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand...
This place was a Good Delight to visit which has been abandoned as of now and Govt is charging 150 Rs which doesn't have any facilities
But one can see the beautiful Ganga river besides the Ashram
This place is now a Wild life reserved forest and also have many mediation centres which the devotes used to mediate
To be honest I feel this place is a bit overrated. Except for the fact the Beatles meditated at this place, there is nothing interesting to see here. Also, the entry fee is extremely high at 250/person
