Chandragiri Betta - Jain temple in Shravanbela Gola (Rural) - Hassan, India

Best place for one day outing from Bangalore. We started our journey from Bangalore. Covered Mavanuru, Chandragiri and Vindyagiri in one day. Better to visit Chandragiri and Vindyagiri in the morning or evening. It's Jain temple. Need to climb 300+ steps. It takes 15-20 mins. Inside view is beautiful. On opposite, we can see the Vindyagiri with tallest Gommeteshwara statue.

Best place for one day trip. We started our journey from Mysore. It is better to reach in the early morning when it is less sunny and hot. it is better to climb and come down before 11. Because you have to visit another hill , it is best if you finish darshana as early as possible. Around 700 steps are there for Vindya giri and nearly 200 steps for Chandra giri. In Vindya giri famous Jain temple and tallest monolithic Gommateshvara statue is present and in Chandragiri 15 basdi are present.

It's a beautiful atmosphere. The hills has temple for multiple Jani gurus. The trekking is not that hard compared the bigger and main hill. The view from this hill is amazing. It's just walkable distance from the bus stand. Covering both main hill which is Vindhyagiri and Chandragiri can take 4 to 5hrs. Please also explore some of the shops around here where you can get copper and other utensils which are ethnic and antique pieces.

This hill is the smaller of the two. The view from here is great. The hill should be climbed without footwear. There is a shoe stand with token system in the base and also there is carry facility if you have elders or disable people. The sculpting is great and the place is well maintained. Paved roads leading to it and safe for families.

Peaceful place... One should come here in the mornings time as shoes are not allowed while climbing to the temple.. if you choose to wear socks make sure they are not slippery.. Other it's a perfect place for a day out with family.. Calm and quite place it .. Beautiful views from the top as well as while climbing.. the city looks very clean and well maintained

You will definitely fall in the beauty of the sculptures. Such a astonishing one. There are 15 temples inside them.. Each a unique one. It's very easy to reach top compared to the main hill.

Located in Shravanbelgola,near Channarayapatna town of Hassan district, it is a smaller hill amongs two hills, other is vindhyagiri where statue of Gomateshwara is located.Chandragiri hills has various Jain temples dedicated to different tirthankars,built during 11th century by Hoysala rulers.There are various beautiful sculptures related to Jain religion and also various inscriptions related to construction and maintenance and funds for temple.It is believed that Chandragupta Maurya came here along with Jain muni after giving worldly life and died here.one has to take a flight of around 250 steps to reach at the top of the hill.it is very near to Vindyagiri hills.one has to climb these steps without any footwear while one can climb with socks on.
