I visited Chandigarh in the winter of Dec 1998 and again in the summer of 2017 In 1998 it was as part of the Vaishnodevi Yatra, so I didn't stay long, just a day, so my memories of that trip aren't much... The second time, I visited many of the places of tourist interest, and I found the city to be very friendly, welcome and teeming with night-life. The street food is simply delicious and even the hotels had great cuisine. The city is remarkably well-planned and kept spotlessly clean. It is difficult to find one's way around however and there is always the confusion between Panchkula, Mohali & Chandigarh proper... Some lovely gardens, particularly the Rose garden with its huge wind chime and beautiful roses. More beautiful roses I've seen only in Bangalore. Large museums and malls and tree-lined avenues complete the picture. A lot is left to see, and one more trip is due after this Corona stuff is behind us...
