We went to Chandighat at around 10pm after coming down from chandimata mandir. And believe me it was such an amazing place. We went there in the month of june and at night it was not at all crowded. Even during the day it was pretty much empty. So this place is very awesome if you want to feel the peace in haridwar. Sitting there at stairs and looking at maa ganga is auspicious therapy. As it was full moon that day the whole area was naturally lit. There were lots of travellers from other states who were staying there. You must take ur family to this ghat. I have attach few pics from my visit that I clicked in chandi mandir and chandighat.
The place is quiet, clean then the other ghats in Haridwar. So it's a good place to hang out with family

One of the best ghat in Haridwar for Ganga Snan (gNgaa snaan). The ghat is newly constructed mainly with red granite stone and very well maintained with proper safety railings and changing room. Located opposite of Harki pauri (busy ghat), it has ample of space for sitting around (less crowded) and enjoying the view of surrounding bridge, mountains / sunrise and sunset. The holy Ganga river flows directly through the ghat. Nearby is famous Maa Chandi Devi mandir in a mountain for which Mountain Ropeway Trollies are available. Big parking space and a canteen facility is also available. Open throughout the day/night/year, it is recommended place for Ganga bath and spending quality time with families and children. Tip: Mahadev special Tilak/tika with Trishul can be tried for some holy/special feeling provided by the kids in 5 rupees. Best ghat in Haridwar loved it very large open space with cleanliness and changing rooms I would suggest to change clothes in the toilets for females because the changing rooms for women's are kinda open from below and beware of the stairs it will hit you in the head and there are no chains all of the ghat but at some places. And for your safety there are police men with daily dress which are highly trained swimmers if anything happens
