A vast, beautiful, clean and serene place amidst the hustle and bustle of Shillong. The cathedral has wonderful architecture which dates back to 1913. The main church is also huge. There is also a school in the cathedral premises. Take your own time to explore the place and be close to God.

Visited Cathedral on weekend (August 2023) around 11AM. A calm, peaceful and serene place where you get a chance to be one with the creator. The architecture of the cathedral building looks phenomenal from outside. The main service/prayer hall too has great architecture, but clicking photographs inside is not permitted. One of the serene location to must visit in Shillong.

Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians is located in the heart of Laitumkhrah ,Shillong , Meghalaya It's a peaceful place for worship and has a vast area It's one of the oldest churches in Shillong and the architecture is stunning The outer blue color to the whole architecture and the premises is breathtaking This church was built in 1913 by the first Catholic missionaries to these hills the Salvatorians from Germany at that time it was a wooden structure which got destroyed in fire in 1936 The reconstruction happened in 1936 and the building was built in sand since Shillong is prone to earthquakes There is one grotto church which has been carved out of the hill It has an amazing architecture and glass works which attracts a lot of tourist A must place to visit for blessings

The stunning beautiful architecture draws all the attention. One of the must visit places in Shillong. This church was first built in 1913 which got burnt, later it was reconstructed in 1936. The trenches are filled with sand to protect it from earthquakes. The church space is open almost all day, although for assembly specific timings are there. We stayed at a homestay in laitmukrah so it was walking distance from there, although if you're staying at police bazar you'll have to take the local taxi. This church has blue exterior, which matches the sky perfectly with an eye catching architecture. The church us usually open form 9am to 5pm for visitors. You can somehow get a view of the Shillong from the church. The complex is huge and one can easily move in fresh air. There are a lots of statues in the premises including mother mary.

A huge cathedral fully painted in blue. The altar of the church was different compared to that in most of the churches in South India. Also there are Calvary and grotto of Mary. It's a must watch location in Shillong
