cascade meadows Ooty , Home Stay - Cottage in Kotagiri - The Nilgiris, India

Very good place with an amazing view from all around this resort. We went as group of riders from Bangalore and had an amazing time. Lot of place nearby to explore. Advice to the owner is please improve the overall maintenance of resort and it's gonna be the best resort at Kotagiri. You got a wonderful location so use it wisely.

Considering the rush on a long weekend, we decided to book in advance with full payment and when on the day of check in we were about to inform our confirmation of visiting the property, they were saying the rooms are full and we will arrange for you near the property. After few calls, they arranged two rooms in the property itself. But upon reaching there, one of the rooms were allotted to others who came in excess of the booked count. All these were done by the owner and when we reached out to him, he just treated us like as if we came there for spot booking. Even informed the caretaker to give us dinner and take us away from there to some other property which till now he didn share the photos or details of it. Because of this, we had to take care of the caretaker's helplessness. After arranging the rooms at the same property, we informed the caretaker to clean the sheets and room once we reach back after the dinner from outside. He had ample time to do all the chores but he decided to stop it halfway. Then we made them to do it properly under our supervision. The only good thing about this place is that the atmosphere and ambience. The rooms are old not the vintage feel but old for real. Atleast they could have maintained it properly. For the price, even in the off-season it is highly overrated. One room didn't have chairs or tables and sheets weren't clean. They were kind of short too. Pure negligence and worst customer service. The property needs to proper maintenance for the price they charge.

To anyone who is reading this review to know my experience of spending time in Cascade Meadows let me sum up it in a few words... HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, TERRIBLE, MISERABLE, HUMILIATING, TOTAL RIP-OFF and whatever words you want to use to describe such a disgusting place and irresponsible employees. I've never had such a terrible experience ever in my life. This is not the first time we are booking rooms in a hotel. But this is the first time that we are having such a terrible experience. Since it is the tourist season, we wanted to avoid any fuss and last minute confusions. We booked two rooms and paid in advance. We wanted two separate rooms since we were a group of three, including me, my husband and his friend. My husband called the staff to make sure that the rooms are available. And he informed them that we were on our way. We reached the place by almost 7 pm (September 30, 2023). But when we reached there the caretaker told us that there was some 'confusion' and there is only one room available. We didn't understand how is that even possible after booking two rooms and paying for it already. Then he told us that they've allotted one room to another group of travellers. We called the owner to clarify this 'confusion' and he was acting innocent. Then he asked my husband to cancel the booking in MakeMyTrip trip to get a refund. But we didn't agree since no online site would do a refund after a particular day of booking. Then he offered us to arrange two rooms in a house which is almost 1 or something km away from his property for 6000 rs. We didn't want to take a room in an unknown place but still we asked him to send photos of those rooms. But instead of photos, he sent the location and a voice message to the caretaker. He foolishly played it publicly. The owner was asking him to get rid of us saying AVANKAKK ETHAVATH SAPPADU KEEPPADU ETHAVATH KODUTHU VIDU. It was so HUMILIATING. It was as if we don't have anything to eat in our house and one day we woke up and decided to book two rooms in his hotel for 7188 rs, since the owner is so kind to give us some food. This is the first time that anyone humiliating us after spending this much money on rooms. Even after causing all these inconveniences the owner was nowhere to be seen. We had to call him several times and he was doing nothing to sort the situation. It was clear that they were trying to loot us by alloting our room to another group of travellers and we're trying to deny us a refund saying technical difficulties. Then I had to ask the caretaker sternly to show us the photos of those rooms. Then the caretaker miraculously arranged two rooms. I have no idea how he did that after making this scene. He didn't even ask us for our ID cards. While checking in I specifically asked him to clean the room and change the sheets and blanket by the time we come back after having food. Then we went to the town to have food. After reaching the room, I checked the blankets only to find out a spider under it. Then I thoroughly checked the bedsheet and saw a lot of bugs and insects on it. It was evident that they haven't changed the sheets and pillow covers in a long time. Then we called the caretaker again to change it. Also the rooms and bathroom were not clean. I can't even think of the washbasin. It was horribly disgusting. We had to put up with it even after spending a hell of an amount on those rooms. We left the room early next morning since we were all fed-up with whatever has happened the night before. Thanks for ruining our trip. I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone this place unless they are looking for a TOTAL RIP-OFF.

Cascade meadows, is perfect place for outing with friends . We 5 friends been ooty, stayed on hill top property , breath taking view from cascade meadows . Location is awesome this my second time visiting this property. Mr. Kani the care taker was kind and gentle in serving us . Overall i rate 4/5. If you are planning for ooty with your friends cascade is perfect place to party.

I love this place because its a calm location and great atmosphere. This is my 7th time visiting this place. Food was good, but can be improved. Need to improve on hospitality. Kani was an excellent care taker, but he need more support from owner interms of technical support. Nowadays people will only look for the comfort. Rise to the occasion.

This was my 5th time to this place... again it's the same feeling. 1. Food : Homely food (typical south Indian). Even people from other states(Delhi)loved it thanks to Kani/Rajesh(caretaker) . 2. Location : no doubt this is the best place to be if you want to stay away from crowd and just chill 3. Rooms : beds and rooms are good as per the budget. It's my 5th time here so u guys can understand.

Best place for a group of people to enjoy this beautiful place. The power and network is good for such kind of places. It's remotely inside and can enjoy a scenic waterfall
