A small but well maintained museum exhibiting items related to the police and policing in Calcutta (now called Kolkata).
Their firearms gallery is very interesting as is the gallery on the epaulettes, letter and exhibits related to crime and solving of the same. They have the shell of a bomb dropped on the city by the Japanese during WW2 and have a section for archives where a lot of once classified files and documents are exhibited. Researchers may access the same with due permission.
One thing I would like to highlight is the extremely friendly and polite behaviour of all the staff we encountered. Be it the policeman at the gate to the gentleman guiding us or the gentleman in the office, it was a pleasure dealing with them.
Entry is free.
Another plus from a historical point of view is that this was where Raja Rammohun Roy spent 16 years of his life - this property was his house.

Some valuable evidence stored here from British rulership india . Evidence of freedom fighters & weapons are stored here . Soft copies of 64 files on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose available here for research purposes .
Nearby railway station & metro railway station is :- Sealdah junction .
Estimated distance from Sealdah railway station is ~2.5 km . A lot of information available in this place on Kolkata police official website . Lets check out before visiting on this place .
Identification proof ( photo identity proof) is essential for visiting .
A lot of Thanks to Kolkata police for such step to protect historical evidence of Kolkata .
Thank you .
Free to entry, but if it's also have a ticket that will be the visitors pleasure. Loaded with bombs, guns, badges, troops with restrictions of camera. 2 storeyed museum, where ground has the age old vintages & 1st floor has the present police information & precious netaji archives. Pleasure to wonder seekers......
